09.01.2022 SENIORS WEEK - CELEBRATING OUR SENIOR PLAYERS As we celebrate Seniors Week this week, we thought we would pop down and catch up with some of our regular social tennis players this morning. A study in Denmark in 2018, published by Peter Schnohr found that playing tennis may extend your life by nearly 10 years. That's a remarkably big benefit, one that even the study authors were surprised at. The social tennis cohort at Bayswater on a Thursday morning certainly back up t...his study with a large number of players well into their 70's 80s, and beyond. 06.01.2022 ALAN TOMKINS It is with much sadness that we advise our members and extended Bayswater Tennis community of the passing of Alan Tomkins. He will be remembered as a dedicated club member and even more devoted family man. Over his lifetime association with the club, he held the board positions of Men’s Captain, Club Captain and President, as well as maintenance man, mentor and supporter to all. Alan was rewarded for his devotion to Baysie back in 1988 when he was presented wit...h his Life Membership at the age of 36. Alan will be greatly missed by all at the club. We send our heartfelt condolences to Alan’s family and friends at this difficult time.
