23.01.2022 New venues of concern Northern NSW Local Health District has been notified of a number of venues of concern associated with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in ...the region. Anyone who attended the following venue at the times listed is a close contact and must get tested and isolate for 14 days since they were there, regardless of the result. NSW Health sends a text message to people who have checked in at close-contact venues with further information. We are reminding the community that anyone who has been in Greater Sydney or Lismore or other areas which have stay at home restrictions are required to abide by the stay at home restrictions even after they leave that area. Stay at home restrictions mean you can only leave your residence for essential reasons, including shopping for food, medical care, getting vaccinated, compassionate needs, exercise and work or tertiary education if you can’t work or study at home. 22.01.2022 BREAKING: Queensland borders will close to New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory from 1am this Saturday, August 8. All visitors will be denied en...try except for rare exemptions and returning Queenslanders will have to pay for 14 days mandatory hotel quarantine. Queensland’s Chief Health Officer has declared all of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory as hotspots. Only residents of border communities and essential workers, such as truck drivers, will be able to cross the border. Exemptions including for compassionate reasons will be limited. Passes for border communities will be for those with proof of address and photo ID. The border closure will be reviewed at the end of the month. #covid19au

21.01.2022 CHANGES TO THE NSW REOPENING ROADMAP NSW will take its first steps towards reopening as the State passes the 70 per cent double vaccination target. With the... first vaccination milestone being reached, the NSW Government is also easing a number of restrictions as part of the Reopening NSW roadmap, which will allow fully vaccinated adults to enjoy more freedoms from next Monday, October 11. The changes to the 70 per cent roadmap from 11 October include: Up to 10 fully vaccinated visitors (not counting children 12 and under) to a home (previously five) Up to 30 fully vaccinated people will be able to attend outdoor gatherings (previously 20) Increasing the cap for weddings and funerals to 100 people (previously 50). Indoor pools will also be re-opened for swimming lessons, squad training, lap swimming, and rehab activities On the Monday after the State clears the 80 per cent double vaccination hurdle further restrictions will be relaxed: Up to 20 visitors (excluding children 12 and under) to a home (previously 10) Up to 50 people will be allowed to gather outdoors (previously 20) Up to 3,000 people will be allowed to attend controlled and ticketed outdoor events (previously 500) Nightclubs will be permitted to reopen for seated drinking only (no dancing), and masks will no longer be required in office buildings All roadmap freedoms at 70 and 80 per cent will continue to be for fully vaccinated people only. All school students will also now return to on site learning with a range of COVID-safe measures in place by October 25, with the second and third stages of the return to school plan now combined. Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 12 students will still return to face-to-face learning on October 18, with all other years now returning one week later on October 25. Workers in regional areas who have received one vaccination dose will be permitted to return to their workplace from October 11 and will be given a grace period until November 1 to receive their second dose. Regional areas are those outside Greater Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Wollongong, Shellharbour and the Central Coast. 12.01.2022 Public Health Alert Community members on Brisbane’s southside are asked to remain alert but not alarmed as Queensland records three new cases of novel cor...onavirus (COVID-19). The first case is a 19-year-old woman who tested positive after travelling interstate last week. She is an employee at Parklands Christian College on Brisbane’s southside. Queensland Health is working closely with the school which has temporarily closed until further notice. The second case is a 19-year-old female travel companion. Both cases travelled interstate together last week. It is believed they contracted the virus in Melbourne, Victoria. The third reported case is a known close contact, a 22-year-old woman, who tested positive later today. This individual is an employee of YMCA Chatswood Hills Outside School Hours Care. Queensland Health is working closely with the school and the care centre, both of which have temporarily closed until further notice. Border zone residents can cross the border for any purpose Tweed Shire border zone residents will be able to apply for an 'X' pass which will allow them to cross the border and travel in the border zone. Queensland Police Service said they hope to have the new border declaration pass available from this afternoon (7 August). Queensland border zone residents cannot travel outside the border zone in New South Wales and New South Wales border zone residents cannot travel outside the border zone in either Queensland or New South Wales. A border zone resident who is a New South Wales resident is: permitted to enter and remain in the border zone within Queensland; and must not travel outside the border zone within Queensland, unless they are a construction worker attending a construction site immediately outside the border zone; and they travel by private vehicle to and from the construction site without exiting the vehicle and do not leave the confines of the construction site; and must not enter Queensland if the resident had travelled in a COVID-19 hotspot outside the border zone within the 14 days prior to entering Queensland. 06.01.2022 Stage 1 of the NSW Government’s roadmap for easing COVID-19 restrictions kicks in across the state today (11 October), which means changes to some Council op...erations. All patrons attending some Council facilities, will be required to be fully vaccinated (or hold a medical exemption). This is in keeping with the latest NSW Health public health order, which takes effect from today. In keeping with these new requirements, there are changes at some of Council’s customer-facing facilities from today, including: The requirement to be fully vaccinated to enter the following facilities: Tweed Regional Aquatic Centres (TRAC) at Murwillumbah, Kingscliff and South Tweed. Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre Tweed Regional Museum Indoor venues at Council’s cemeteries Community centres at Banora Point and Tweed Heads South and Kingscliff Hall Markets that are Council approved on Council land Visitor Information Centres Village community halls, places and spaces where they are used for certain activities including recreation facilities, weddings and funeral services Council’s auditoria at Murwillumbah and Tweed Heads hold an additional requirement to ensure a child under the age of 16 attending these facilities may only do so if accompanied by a fully-vaccinated adult household member. Vaccination status will NOT be required at Stotts Creek Resource Recovery Centre (tip) which will continue to operate under COVID-Safe conditions for domestic and commercial operations. Tweed JUNKtion Tip Shop will remain closed. Council meetings will be held in the Harvard Room at Tweed Heads Administration Office. 01.01.2022 COVID-19: Two new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Queensland, both 19 year old women from Logan and Acacia Ridge who returned to Queensland on July 21 ...from Melbourne via Sydney. Both are in isolation at the PA Hospital. A fever clinic will be operational at Parklands Christian College this afternoon. Families have been notified and contact tracing is underway. Anyone who feels sick should go and get tested immediately. We have responded to situations in Queensland like this before and, because of our responses, we have been able to contain cases like this and prevent community transmission. It is absolutely critical that everyone tells the truth to public health staff and police to protect yourself, your family, and your community.
