The first UK club’s origins lie in an advertisement placed in the Light Car magazine in 1930, suggesting forming a club for MG owners. Vehicles from the South Australian club will be on show from 10:00am. See more

16.01.2022 Check out the latest episode from the Shannons Club series. The Overlander | DRIVEN | Ep 22 With telling signs of its tour of duty in Vietnam, it was the simplicity in design and function that attracted Gabrielle Presutto to purchase his 1959 Series II ex-Australian Army Land Rover. The pencil lines, the flat sheet metal panels and the limited features are a nod to the vehicle’s utilitarian nature, which today allows Gab to enjoy the best of both - urban and off road worlds. Shannons is a great sponsor and supporter of the National Motor Museum - Australia and the Bay to Birdwood

11.01.2022 ALL JAPAN DAY CLASSIC 2020 POSTPONED The AJD committee has made the difficult decision to postpone this weekend’s All Japan Day Classic at the National Motor Mu...seum at Birdwood, due to recent changes to COVID restrictions put in place by the SA government. Initially, we thought we might still be able to go ahead, based on the information released by SA Health, but the museum can only calculate its area on the buildings themselves, not including the outdoor areas, which limits the total number of visitors to just 300 people. We would struggle to stay under that number just with entrants and their passengers, let alone have any spectators come in via the museum. The Museum has been very generous in providing some alternative dates prior to Christmas and just outside the two-week restriction period. At this stage, we’ve pencilled in Sunday 13 December as a potential new date - we’re letting you know now so you can prepare accordingly. Bear in mind that this obviously may change if further restrictions are introduced. There are no changes to the regular All Japan Day event at Wigley Reserve in February 2021 at this stage. Obviously this postponement is not an ideal situation, but the AJD Committee has done its very best to find a solution that ensures the event still goes ahead, ably assisted by the Museum. We look forward to - hopefully - seeing you at Birdwood in a few weeks’ time. Regards, The AJD Committee
