21.01.2022 Tasmania Fire Service has declared a Total Fire Ban from 2am Thursday 21 November until 2am Friday 22 November for much of Tasmania, including Hobart. Current f...orecasts are predicting strong winds, low humidity and high temperatures on Thursday. The declaration of a total fire ban means that no fires can be lit in the open air, including incinerators, burn offs, campfires, fire pots and wood-fuelled barbecues. Work practices such as grinding, welding and cutting metal in the open are not permitted. The use of machinery for harvesting etc, may be subject to restrictions or prohibited on the declaration of a total fire ban. All fire permits are automatically suspended. Landowners should ensure that any fires already burning on their property are properly extinguished. More info at messages.fire.tas.gov.au//190687-tfs-total-fire-ban-advert
