12.01.2022 We hope you are coping ok with the extremely unusual situation we are all facing. As a valued member of our local community we would like to update you on the evolving COVID-19 crisis. Our clinic is and always has been a place of health and healing, and your wellbeing is our top priority. To help protect everyone who attends our clinic as much as possible we have increased our hygiene levels and ask that you please note and follow these practices: CLIENTS... * If you are (or have) experienced cold or flu like symptoms within the last 2 weeks, we ask that you please reschedule your appointment for a minimum of 2 weeks * If you or a member of your family has returned from overseas, please reschedule your appointment for a minimum of two weeks time (with as much prior notice as possible) * If you develop symptoms within 24 hours after being in our clinic, please let us know immediately. * If you are unsure of your own circumstances, please get in touch with your doctor or the National Coronavirus Helpline (1800 020 080). SANITISATION * There is soap and disposable hand towels in the bathroom, we ask that you please wash your hands as soon as you enter the clinic * Hand sanitiser is available at the reception desk * We clean door handles and toilet door handles regularly with disinfectant wipes * Dr Jim washes his hands before and after consulting with each patient and uses hand sanitiser also * Glen 20 disinfectant spray is kept at our reception and used regularly on all surfaces at the clinic * Pens and reception surfaces disinfected regularly * We will ask that patients please swipe their own Health Fund cards and tap their own credit cards, and we will sanitise the machine after each use * We have removed all magazines and children's books and toys within reception as these items are harder to keep sanitised * Our towels and gowns are changed after each use and laundered on high heat settings daily * Windows will be kept open for ventilation DR JIM * As has always been the case, Dr Jim washes his hands thoroughly after each treatment * Shaking hands with patients will be avoided * Dr Jim will open and close the door to the treatment room to avoid patients having to touch door handles * Paper towel is used and replaced after each patient on the treatment table and the surface is sanitised. We ask for your patience and understanding with these requirements, which we believe are necessary and important. The situation with COVID-19 is still evolving, and we will continue to review our requirements and update them as required, to protect everyone as much as we can. 12.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE - A message for our community In line with the current stage 4 restrictions, Bayview Chiropractic will remain open for urgent, crisis care appointments ONLY. A statement from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) says: All AHPRA registered health workers can provide services that prevent significant change / degeneration in functional independence.... The crisis care we are permitted to provide as defined by the DHHS includes: 1. To avoid a requirement for specialist input / review 2. To avoid an increase in care needs and/or the need for alternate accommodation 3. To avoid a hospital admission or emergency department presentation. This means that we cannot provide routine check up visits until further notice. If you have a pre existing appointment booked between now and 14 September, Dr Jim will be in contact to discuss the level of care you require and how we can best assist you at this point in time.
