23.01.2022 Dear Dr Plum has had a bit of TLC :) new front Derallieur (105) , 2 new spokes ( rear wheel drive side), new handlebar tape, new brake pads and a full service. Thanks to Shirley and Spence at Victor Cycle and Skate. Now the old Dr is sniffing the air wondering which way to head :)

14.01.2022 Camping at Kuitpo was a great way to catch up with a few friends and family and for Chris to prepare for his final day riding in to Victor.

13.01.2022 Ok.... Now for the rest of the story..... He made a very grand escorted arrival and we had a wonderful banner/ finish line which he fell thru He is OK!!! A couple of bruises and grazes but ok:)

12.01.2022 It has been a marvelous day in Saigon, absolutely fantastic breakfast, after three helpings including sticky rice with peanuts, cooked whilst you watch omelette, braised pork chop with vegetable, fried rice cakes, rice with butter and garlic, pho bo (vietnamese beef noodle soup), coffee with condensed milk, fresh fruit and yoghurt, I was in heaven and it's on again at 6.30 in the morning. Off we went exploring; the vibrancy of Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) is both magical and daunting.... To throw open the window and smell, hear, and feel the city with all of it's passion first thing in the morning is a wonder indeed. We browsed the markets, drank more coffee, haggled and bargained, dodged the millions of motorbikes (estimated to be over 5 million bikes in Saigon), and ate a fabulous four course lunch. After lunch we all ventured off in the bus to get 'fit' to our bikes. There are going to be a few long days in the saddle coming up wo we took time to try to get it right. Another great meal together tonight and on the return to our hotel, Jude and I went for a walk to a little massage establishment around the corner that guaranteed satisfaction. 90 minutes for $11 can't beat that. It included hot rocks, reflexology, shiatzu techniques, and deep tissue. Now it is midnight and I am putting together a quick post before lowering my head. Sleep well all and be assured that we are holding our end up here. Ooroo for now Chris. See more
