06.01.2022 *** Please read VIP *** Today after work early this morning I just wanted to go home & go to bed. Instead, I had my CPR refresher training, with my job it is a requirement to complete it every 12 months. Instead of going home & going to bed, I’m so very glad I attended & not just because it is a requirement.... My job is a Fitness Trainer, yes, but my aim is to educate, motivate & inspire people in every way I can to focus on themselves & their health. I don’t see focusing on yourself as selfish, rather a necessity. Remember you are loved by someone!! Below I have written my learnings in the hope of educating everyone on things we may not think about all the time or maybe not at all. These things are the silent killers, that can be avoided with some knowledge. Please don’t ever think it can’t happen to you or someone you love. Learnings: alcohol is a massive silent killer we don’t talk about enough. Did you know if you pass out from drinking too much & are lying flat on your back, your lungs can fill with vomit & there’s no going back! It cannot be removed & you cannot be saved! so the next time you are going to drink think about what you are doing & educate your teenagers also!! the brain has 12 mins to survive when you sweat excessively you lose vital electrolytes within the body. Potassium, Calcium, Sodium & Magnesium health issues can start to occur when these levels become to low drink a chocolate big m after a hardcore workout. This is what athletes use to replenish lost electrolytes milk is used as it has all of the vital minerals in it do not underestimate the value of sugar you will recover 50% more by having a little sugar after working out I hope that my learnings can help someone, someday, but most importantly I hope that I will never have to use my CPR knowledge. Just by taking care of ourselves, it can help to minimise any unnecessary events. I hope that you can all share this information, with the aim of raising awareness. If this can help someone at some point, then I am glad I took the time to write it
