21.01.2022 Meetings starting again! With restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic being eased, the club is returning to its normal practice of meeting twice a month - on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. at the Vincentia Community Hall. Our first meeting back will be on July 14th 2020, a digital photo competition night where photos submitted by members will be displayed on a big screen, discussed, judged, and awarded (or not). Social distancing and personal hygiene guidelines will still need to be followed - 4 square metres per person, all activity must be seated only. It might be a good idea to bring your own cup / coffee / tea / biscuits for our mid-evening break. Boiling water will be available.

21.01.2022 The August photo competition Set Subject was "Something that Smells" - and judge Tanya Du Toit (https://tdtphotography.com/) awarded Best of Section (and Photo of the Month) to Robert Bednarik for his monochrome image "Super Sniffer". The winner of Best in Section for the Open competition was Trevor McKinnon with his "Three's a Crowd" image of three Kookaburras. Congratulations to the award winners and thanks to Tanya for judging for us this month! All BBCC photos can be found on our Flickr site at https://www.flickr.com/photos/145810113@N05/albums

20.01.2022 The October photo competition has been run and won. The Open comp was won by Sue Josephsen for her delightful Grevillea image (shown below), while the Set Subject competition on "Recovery / Regrowth / Regeneration" was won by Robert Bednarik for his "Life Springs" image depicting ferns emerging from a devastated environment - which will be shown in a separate post. Congratulations to the winners, commiserations to those who did not win, and many thanks to Mary Furness for stepping in to do the judging at the last minute!

16.01.2022 Coronavirus Update - posted 25th July 2020 All competition meetings and workshops have again been suspended because of the likelihood of a "second wave" and the reluctance of members to attend meetings because of the risk involved.

14.01.2022 The BBCC was able to meet last night for the first time in 4 months, with a small group of members braving the wind, cold and rain to attend. Thanks to judge Bob Cook, a member of the Castle Hill RSL Photography Club, for his insights and comments. The Open Section was won by club President Trevor McKinnon with his image of a kangaroo at sunrise entitled "Australian Icon". The Set Subject was Tabletop Photography, and it was won by Peter Noakes with his inventive image "Chooks Alive". Next month's set subject will challenge members to produce images illustrating "Something that Smells"!

14.01.2022 The June photo competition has been judged early! Thank you to our judges - Colin and Diane Schofield, and Bev Wordman. The Set Subject for June was "Phone Photography" and our winner was club President Trevor McKinnon with his amazing panorama of Lake Louise in Canada. The Open section was won by new member Nick Ashby with an excellent macro shot of bees in a protea flower. Congratulations to the winners!

07.01.2022 Club President Trevor McKinnon scooped the pool in the September photo competition, with winners in both the Open and the Set Subject (Crowded Spaces) sections. Congratulations to Trevor, and many thanks to this month's judge, Danny Dunne! The winning photos are shown below ... with all of the entries available for viewing on our Flickr site at https://www.flickr.com/photos/145810113@N05/albums

07.01.2022 We had a good turnout to our first actual physical meeting in quite a while last night. It was a photo comp night, and we are still digital because of Covid, but with the resumption of meetings we are on track to return to the status quo of alternating print and digital photo comps each month next year. Thanks to judge Robyn Georges for all her work for the November competition! In the Set Subject of "Bridges" Robyn selected Ian Brown's photo of a famous bridge in Budapest as the photo of the month. The winner of the Open section was Peter Noakes with his ballooning shot entitled "Come Fly With Me". Congratulations to the winners!

06.01.2022 It looks like we have some work to do ... !

04.01.2022 Here is the May workshop presentation on 'Tabletop Photography'. As it is in WMV format, you may need to pause it occasionally.
