24.01.2022 Last week, year 4/5 presented speeches on Friday, pretending to be a character from the Australian Gold Rush era. Their speeches were interesting, creative and contained facts about what life was like for people from this period.

22.01.2022 This afternoon, the ELC children engaged in a Magic Milk science experiment. They demonstrated genuine curiosity and enthusiasm in how the magic rainbow milk works. We talked about what they noticed and what happened when they dropped the dish soap into the milk. This experience introduced them to scientific concepts and allowed them to develop problem solving, hypothesising and investigating. 21.01.2022 Year 4/5 are learning about the Australian Goldrush and were issued Miners Licences this week. Their task is to not lose their licence or forget it - or they will need to pick up 5 pieces of rubbish, when asked by a Trooper (teacher) to show it. Students are demonstrating lots of passion for the Miners Licences!

16.01.2022 Yesterday, the Charnwood students visited our Lyneham Campus to watch the Musica Viva Performance. One of our very own Charnwood Champions was picked out of the Junior School Audience to have a little play of the Viola da Gamba!

12.01.2022 No matter how small they are, children are able to set goals for themselves and work towards achieving this goal. Lumi set a goal for climbing up this frame and sliding down just like she had seen other do in the past. With some support and guidance, she has been able to achieve her goal of getting to the top. Hooray for Lumi!

12.01.2022 Almost 200 of our students from Year 2 to 12 competed in the AMC (Australian Mathematics competition) on 30th July 2020. The AMC is run by the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT). It is one of the largest annual events on the Australian education calendar and is one of the largest of its type in the world. More than 30 countries participate each year. Students are provoked to think creatively by the engaging problems that demonstrate the importance and relevance of Mathematics in their everyday lives. Lots of enthusiastic discussions were heard afterwards around the school about the competition problems.

12.01.2022 The lunch time clubs are in full swing, Pottery Club has been a hit. It has been great seeing creative thrive and the smiles all around.

11.01.2022 On Sunday, a group of 12 from our Brindabella Christian College ELC completed the "Bloody Long Walk". With blistered feet, sore muscles and happy hearts we can... proudly say that all of our team members completed the full 35km's! We are so proud of this achievement. We wanted to give a shout out to the Brindabella team who organised lunch for the participants and handed out water to the other people participating in the walk. We definitely needed the pick me up! We have raised $3,377 so far; however there is still time to donate! 10.01.2022 Yesterday the Charnwood Champions started Capital Football Clinic sessions. Until the end of the term, students will participate in weekly sessions so they can kick goals in their soccer skills. Big thanks to Capital Football for their time, energy and support!

08.01.2022 In Brindabella Christian College, we recognise that diversity contributes to the richness of our society. Providing the children with weekly cultural cooking experiences, allows them a range of opportunities to celebrate diversity. Today T2 children extended their interest by revisiting the experience of making Gimbap which is Korean version of Sushi! They were excited to be made aware that Gimbap is often part of a packed meal, to be eaten at picnics and outdoor events in Korea. They all were confident in choosing the ingredients and rolling their own Gimbap. This experience is a foundation of broadening childrens perspectives and encouraging appreciation of diversity. Next week, the children will be participating in making Vietnamese rice paper rolls and going on a picnic as a follow up experience.

06.01.2022 On Sunday 18th of October, a team from Brindabella Christian College’s ELC will be participating in The Bloody Long Walk 2020. This is a 35km walk to raise mo...ney for mitochondrial disease (Mito). The team have been out in the community training hard each day on their lunch breaks as well as on their weekends to prepare for this huge walk!! We want to give a huge thank you to all of the wonderful Brindabella families who have already donated to this cause. 05.01.2022 Our Friday Shared Campus 3x3 Basketball Program started last week. We are providing a free bus for Charnwood students to be transported to our wonderful indoor basketball venue at the Lyneham campus and join in the fun with our Lyneham students.
