From one week to the next, we went from in-class learning to online training, in order to keep our students and staff safe during the #coronavirus #crisis. 24.01.2022 As the Corona Virus (COVID-19) is now accelerating, and some services and businesses start to shut down, we at BCC Institute are working on keeping our staff and students safe, while continuing to deliver training. As the pandemic progresses, Governments may take other measures such as closing schools, workplaces, and maybe even public transport for a time. Life in Sydney is now changing and it now needs to change at BCC Institute. For now, we are: * Introducing online classe...s to allow students to continue their training at no risk. * Unpaid Work Placement experience is to be deferred for the next few months. Students who are required to do Work Placement in Early Childhood Education Centres will need to resume their Work Placement hours at a later time. * All external excursions and guest speaker engagements have been cancelled until further notice. * Flexibility will be provided to students who are unable to arrive at BCC Institute for their planned intake. We will allow deferrals so students can start their course later when the crisis passes. * Applications for Leaves of Absence for students to return to their home countries are discouraged. They will only be approved where absolutely necessary. Students will need to self isolate for 14 days upon their return, in accordance with government instructions. * Students are provided with hand sanitiser and encouraged to follow safe hygiene practices. * We have appointed an Epidemic Officer to co-ordinate and advise on our overall response. BCC Institute will continue to support our students, staff and the Bankstown community through this difficult and challenging time, until we all emerge at the other end of it.
