23.01.2022 Check your stance! A task well worth doing... Stand with your feet hip width apart. Make sure your feet are not turned out when doing so. Now check your alignme...nt. Do your knees internally rotate? Do your feet pronate? If so read on... It is likely that you struggle to turn out your feet (or foot) in some cases, it is likely that you find it hard to change direction or push off the spot with speed when wanting to move, it is likely that you find it hard to create a nice arch at the bottom of your foot when pointing your toes downwards, it is likely that you struggle to balance when performing spinning movements, it is likely that you have a restriction when trying to lift your legs up high, it is also likely that you struggle to maintain good turnout when lifting your legs... And it is also likely that you have suffered from one of the following (if you haven't, your lucky so far!).... Plantar fasciitis, big toe injuries, bunions, stress fractures, ankle sprains, shin splints, achilles injuries, knee strains, hip strains, low back discomfort, calf strains and the list goes on... Reading this, it looks like a big problem and may even seem impossible to fix. Some even get orthotics to try and fix the problem... (which will not work!)... But what if I told you that all of these issues are mostly caused by one single problem... Fixing this problem will possibly fix all of the issues which I mentioned above... Want to know what it is? 23.01.2022 Today sees the end of the Burdekin Celtic Dancers studio with Cheryl’s retirement from regular teaching. Renee continues to teach Irish & Highland dancing in Townsville under the Bella Celtic Dance banner. Fiona will be teaching Highland Dancing under her name - FC Caledonian Highland Dance Studio - in Ayr. Cheryl will continue teaching Irish dancing one day per week under the new BCD banner with Renee! Cheryl will continue being involved in both forms of dance but as an adviser (when needed) & support for the two new entities! Keeping the traditions alive

08.01.2022 Thank you for a lovely breakup today. Was great watching the kids dance and showing mum our dances from last night as she unfortunately was unable to come at the last minute. Looking forward to our Xmas break. Thank you for all the lovely gifts and I hope to see some of you for classes over the holidays.
