01.01.2022 ##Open for Business## We have had so many queries lately and the phone has been running hot in these unprecedented times. We are finding this is a great time to complete interest rate reviews. We also thought a quick explanation about the lenders Covid-19 hardship packages on offer may also be helpful :... 1. Most Lenders are offering a six month freeze on repayments. Although this means no repayments, interest will continue to capitalise. At the end of the 6 months you would have a choice to increase repayments a little to make up for it or increase your term by 6 months. 2. Can you still pay into the loan in need? Yes 3. Will my Offset Account still work? Yes 4. Does this impact on my credit rating? No, most lenders have stated that as long as you make the necessary arrangements with the lender, they will not negatively report on your credit file. 5. Can anyone apply? Yes, as long as you are dealing with hardship brought about by Covid 19. 6. Just be mindful that if you have say $50k in redraw or a large offset account balance, the lender in all likelihood will not approve your request. In this instance, you would need to make other arrangements such as a repayment holiday. 7. Switch minimum repayments to interest only for a set term to ease cash flow. Obviously every Lender and clients circumstances are different so please feel free to touch base with any queries.
