20.01.2022 Worth sharing - Ear pinning isn't something horses should be hit for, over our years training we've learnt that ear expressive horses want to just be Understood, Seen and their body language heard. What do you do when a horse pins their ears at you? Would you punish a child that couldn't talk due to their age, for trying to communicate to you in the only way they new how? Through pulling on your clothing and pointing to what they wanted or would you try and understand.

09.01.2022 Isabella is coming along well with being brought back into work - little bit of polework to motivate her forward and trigger some focus on task today - she was more effortlessly forward and confident once set to a task such as polework, so it helped Ed keep her motivated and willing. Very Smart Sensitive mare that just needs understanding to help boost her confidence undersaddle.

02.01.2022 BODYWORK BLOG CAN YOUR HORSE DO THE STRETCH PICTURED BELOW - MARE OR GELDING? IF YES, that's fantastic but if NO have you considered why it isn't possible for ...your horse to stretch in this way?, when it is in fact a very natural stretch your horse should be doing if it can use its body correctly in work or general movement. As an AOE Bodyworker I would suggest opening your mind to Castration scar or Ovary issues causing discomfort and a lack of reach in the movements due to restrictions in the Abdomin/ Lumbar & Pelvic area. Thankfully in AOE we have a release that is very affective for Ovary / Castration scarring releases and I find it is much more commonly required than Horse riders and owners care to accept or acknowledge. If you have a horse with a short stride, Issues Tracking up while ridden and inhand, known Castration scar , lumbar or Ovary discomfort or you'd just like your horse checked over and would like to know more about what AOE modality offers in the way of Quantum treatments PM for further info or Call 0428899308. 02.01.2022 Bodywork 4 Horses $80/ Emmett or @ BCHT $60 $100/ AOE or @ BCHT $80 I Started my journey to become a bodyworker for Horses 2yrs ago in a search for non evasive healing Techniques for horses, as I have a stallion that needs regular bodywork to help keep him comfortable and Sound for work due to a spinal injury. ... On this journey I came across Emmett 4 Horses which is an amazing touch technique that achieves amazing release in horses in Mind and Body which I delved into very deeply doing Course after Course to gain my Qualifications in it. I have achieved some great things with my stallion with regular Emmett treatments before riding, during competitions and even using it to help out clients horses we are training or clients I am coaching. I can offer small treatments before or during my lessons also if I feel it will help release an area on a horse to get optimum performance without time off prior to riding. 01.01.2022 ***** What's In A Bend?? ***** Bends/tension to the equine spine linked to the organs and their nerves. ---------------------------------------... There are many reasons why a horse's body could be bent in different directions. Again, we could broadly place them into external and internal factors. To me the external factors have been spoken about at great length. The internal factors can be really interesting, you just need to look at anatomy. In a previous article I touched on the fact that there is a far greater influence of the organs on the spine than vice-versa. Organs therefore can greatly influence the spine. Two of the main nerves that supply the organs are the Vagus and the Phrenic nerves. The Vagus Nerve: It is the tenth cranial nerve that comes directly out of the brain and supplies all the organs. It has a left and a right branch. **** NB: INTERESTINGLY the right branch supplies far more of the body than the left!! It could very well be that this asymmetry causes far more right bends than left. In my examinations 80% of horses have off-hind/right bend issues compared to near hind...***** The Vagus nerve also has a link to the poll and so can create sidebend there too. The Phrenic Nerve: This supplies the diaphragm and also receives information from the fascia covering the organs. It originates from the middle three vertebrae in the neck and meanders its way to the organs and diaphragm. Along the way it sends off lots of branches. One of which can cause tension to the shoulder. In the case of the Phrenic nerve it is the left that tends to have more relations to the organs. This, in my opinion, is often why the left shoulder and middle of the neck often bend to the left. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Well, I find it incredibly interesting that the organs can shape the mobility of the body and this is just a small part of it (!). I also find it amazing as to how powerfully they do it and how little credit we give to their influence. As a result I think we aren't providing as effective treatments unless we consider them a factor. It becomes really interesting when you have to fathom out what the patterns in the body mean and what has caused them. ---------------------------------------
