20.01.2022 Proof that I make the same face using the bands of pain as my clients Up until about a week ago I hadn’t really needed to alter my training too much (other than scale back on intensity and add more breaks) but a lot of my moves still felt comfortable to my body- deadlifts etc. Which as bump grows, become a tad more difficult to get range. Also, being pregnant your body produces more of the hormone relaxin, which prepares the body for birth; it relaxes ligaments (af...ter all we do have to push a human out!) I was finding my squats get lower...which obviously could be a blessing - but it actually was an injury risk and definitely saw me touching the point of overdoing it and feeling discomfort. Focusing on form and listening to what feels good for your body is so important in any stage of exercise; even if you’re a seasoned pro. There’s no shame in regressing and challenging yourself in other ways; you’ll find you get way more out of your work out! And smaller muscles need love too!! If in doubt allwaaaays ask an exercise professional for alternatives or ideas to maximise your pre/post natal journey, or enhance your post injury rehab. #resistancebands #legsday #pregnanttraining #prenatalfitness #fitnessjourney #fitmums #mumswholift #booty #oceangrove #homeworkout #womensfitness See more

20.01.2022 Get it girl!!! this little lady helping mama get it done. I’m a true believer that exercise should be sustainable and fit in with your life; bringing your kids to session sets them such a fantastic example, and who doesn’t love a cheerleader to get you through those last reps! #familyfitness #fitmama #fitmum #mumswholift #cheerleader #toddlerswholift #mumsandbubs #strongwoman #toddlergoals #fitfam

13.01.2022 STRONG AF Hands up, I was once a cardio junkie. I’m talking 6-7 days a week unnecessarily sweating and getting guilt if I missed a day of not getting my heart rate to the max. I’ll admit it; I still love a good burpee and a spin class for the endorphins and release it gives me.....However, when I trained as a PT and started structuring my workouts properly; resistance training Changed. My. Life. It changed my body shape in ways cardio couldn’t, I escaped the constant... adrenal fatigue of running on empty from back to back cardio, it retrained my metabolism and mindset. Weights also empowered me with not only strength, but with a strong knowledge to help others too! I am working with some amazing women who are carving out some serious fitness goals just a few weeks into 2021- and it’s so refreshing to not just be working on weight loss (but don’t get me wrong resistance training ABSOLUTELY has its place working towards fat loss) but getting damn strong and feeling bloody powerful and sexy within their own skin! #resistance #power #strength #strongnotskinny #fiercewomen #mytribe #muscles #womenwholift #doyouevenlift #hypertrophy See more

09.01.2022 Lets talk Incidental Exercise or NEAT (non exercise activity thermogenesis) basically ANYTHING we do that is not eating, sleeping, or dedicated exercise/work outs. Whilst your intentional workouts are super important - what you do throughout your day is also crucial. NEAT is an overlooked part of staying active and fit- and if weight loss/fat loss is your goal, sitting less and moving more throughout the day is a simple and great way to boost your total energy expen...diture (TEE) (calories burnt.) A little goes a long way! Start by parking a little further from the Entrance at Coles, taking the stairs not the lift, vacuuming with a bit more gusto, carving out a few more minutes to play catch/chase with the kids, going for a walk in your lunch break, cram in some gardening, taking the dog on a longer walk. Even if you struggle to hit 10k steps, adding those extra minutes of light activity in undoubtedly contributes to your NEAT and overall activity level. #NEAT #nonexerciseactivitythermogenesis #walking #playing #oceangrove #activelifestyle #steps #fitness #settingexamples #kickinggoals See more

04.01.2022 Some people dream of push ups with form like this! A fine example of how hips and chest should always come down together when progressing push ups to your toes. This little legend loves training with his amazing mum your kids seeing you work on the best version of yourself is truly awesome; that’s why all my sessions are family friendly- and hey, I love a little co-coach to help me with demos!! #monkeyseemonkeydo #familyfriendly #mumsandbubs #personaltrainingoceangrove #oceangrovepersonaltraining #wallington #pushups #bodyweightworkout #strength #positiveinfluence

04.01.2022 I see you mama Client appreciation post for my wonderful client Trina! With 4 kids (including a beaaautiful 7 month old Joey!) Trina trains with me 2-3x per week for group sessions and PT on a Wednesday and she doesn’t let anything hold her back, even if she needs to pause for a cheeky feed for Joey, she shows up and sets an amazing example for her children as well as kicking some serious ass on the kettlebells! My heart is so full seeing women connected, empowered and... made more confident in themselves inside and out through training! In my opinion that’s worth far more than training to get your booty looking great in shorts (although what a great byproduct ) #strongmama #fitmama #familyfitness #fitmum #mumgoals #strongnotskinny #supermum #oceangrove #mumsansdbubs #mumsofinstagram
