25.01.2022 Post training vibes- DID NOT want to train legs yesterday. Nuh-uh. But seriously I had no excuse not to- lethargic but not burned out, I was child-free for the whole day, housework and admin done, seen some amazing women bring their best and although my head was telling me nahhh now my body was calling out to move. And wow, did I feel soooo much better after I’d trained. There’ll be days you aren’t motivated; And that’s ok. Days where the warm-up sets feel like a finisher! ...Days you struggle to bounce up at your alarm and even days where you’ll try and come up with every excuse not to move your body. We are human beings affected by so many factors; hormones, work schedules, kids, amount of sleep and energy; just do the best you can and know that Motivation only exists as a noun. But Discipline has a verb form. i.e; discipline is something you do, and chooooose to do; motivation is a thing that can come and go, which you cannot choose to do or control. 17.01.2022 Lets talk Incidental Exercise or NEAT (non exercise activity thermogenesis) basically ANYTHING we do that is not eating, sleeping, or dedicated exercise/work outs. Whilst your intentional workouts are super important - what you do throughout your day is also crucial. NEAT is an overlooked part of staying active and fit- and if weight loss/fat loss is your goal, sitting less and moving more throughout the day is a simple and great way to boost your total energy expen...diture (TEE) (calories burnt.) A little goes a long way! Start by parking a little further from the Entrance at Coles, taking the stairs not the lift, vacuuming with a bit more gusto, carving out a few more minutes to play catch/chase with the kids, going for a walk in your lunch break, cram in some gardening, taking the dog on a longer walk. 11.01.2022 Whilst I’m breaking my record of 72 hours + out of active wear for 2020 (!) and finally feel human after a viral infection, I thought I’d share my big Christmas love with all my clients, followers and friends! What a whirlwind year! Like many, my family have suffered some pretty big lows, BUT our highs include a massive career change starting my fitness career, my partner starting his own business, relocating to a beautiful town and seeing Henry grow into the happiest, cheeki...est boy and of course becoming pregnant with our princess! I hope the next week of festivities and last week of 2020 is kind to you and yours; be sure to treat yourself and soak up as much love as you are able. (And still try to get a bit of movement in if you can- be it beach strolls or family cycles) I know that it’s not a conventional Christmas but a fresh new year is on the way and I’m feeling positive for all the new energy it will bring!
