17.01.2022 We had a great holiday workshop last week. The 1st session we experimented with soft pastels. Each of the kids took home a beautiful artwork where they blended three different colours over some tape. We peaked the tape off and revealed the first letter of their name. They are going to look great on heir bedroom walls! We also experimented blending the pastels over a stencil to create clouds, water, cities and their own unique creations.

17.01.2022 So here’s why you haven’t seen me around for a while! We’re in New York!! My son Ben and I are on a grand adventure traveling. This of course has been greatly impacted by the wretched virus, but we are able to take local walks for exercise, and I’ve been excited to start seeing some New York street art!! Please show our lovely budding artists this from me, as great inspiration. I miss teaching them! Aren’t these amazing!!!

16.01.2022 Today with the kindy to year 2 class we explored creating texture using the inspiration from tree trunks. We went outside and looked at the different textures and feel of the trunks and tried to recreate it using multiple medias. Next week we will apply some paint and some more layers. Definitely was a beautifully creative mess!

11.01.2022 We had great fun in the year 3- teens workshop. We created Minecraft inspired art and explored basic principles of turning a 2D picture into 3D In the last session, we had just girls, so we drew some beautiful flowers with soft pastels. Looking forward to beginning our weekly classes again soon- watch this space!

10.01.2022 Last week we experimented with colour and patterns and painted our clay leaves, as well as some leaves we found outside.

07.01.2022 This term we are studying trees. We experimented with water colour sprayed over leaves. We also did leaf printing and created our own leaves. It was such a fun and easy art project that you wouldn’t believe some of these were created by a five year old!
