25.01.2022 Changes to private gatherings come into effect from midnight tonight. Up to 10 visitors will be allowed at residential premises, in addition to those who normal...ly live there (capped at 20 people). Private gatherings will be capped at 100, unless theyre held at a licenced venue where the 1 per 2sqm rule applies inline with a COVID Safe Plan. Weddings and funerals remain capped at 100 people. Were introducing these measures to minimise the risk of community transmission and keep SA open for business.

Issued at 4:55 pm Monday, 9 November 2020. Hot and windy across western and central SA on Tuesday. Strong to locally damaging northerly winds, averaging 50-65 km/h with gusts of 90-100 km/h, are forecast to develop over the warning area during Tuesday morning. Winds will ease from mid afternoon ahead of a cooler southwesterly change. Gusty, possibly severe thunderstorms are also expected across parts of the warning area during the afternoon and evening. Locations which may be affected include Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Ceduna, Maitland, Wudinna, Cleve and Woomera. The threatened H...ooded Plover is one of the Plover species we are lucky to have on our coast. Did you know Hooded Plovers are nesting on our beaches now? Thanks to support from BirdLife Australia with funding from the National Landcare Program we are making progress with communities to identify and manage the threats these birds are facing. Local landholders Sue and Rob Lawrie are lucky to live adjacent to Hooded Plover nesting beaches, saying: We are thrilled to have Hooded Plovers nesting here. Work to manage their nesting sites is improving the chances of chicks hatching and reaching flying age.
