20.01.2022 Warning to the public.... One of our business customers (who doesn't use our recommended antivirus software) was hit the other day with the encryption virus. Please DO NOT open any email supposedly from AGL with an electricity account. For those who do not know, the cryptolocker virus encrypts your files and you have to pay the virus writer $1000 US dollar to get them decrypted. Removal of the virus DOESN'T decrypt your files!

12.01.2022 It has come to our attention that Susan G has made defamatory and grossly untrue comments about me personally and our business on Moore Park Beach Uncut facebook page. We are not members of Moore Park Beach Uncut as that page seems to be quite happy to allow such posts. I have the whole transcript and it can be used as evidence in court. 'Making demands with Menaces' is actually a chargeable offence and the courts do not take it lightly. I refrained from calling Susan G... back after she left a menacing post on FB yesterday morning as well as a menacing phone call. We don't respond to threats. I also have kept the voicemail recording that Susan G left yesterday afternoon at around 3.15pm. It is abusive and goes even further with the menacing. Susan G contacted us the other day as she was attempting to claim for a repair of her laptop from a local Bundaberg business. She alleged that the company did smoke alarm and safety switch testing while her laptop was turned on (whose fault is that?) and that it was surged and is now faulty. The company in question, in good faith, sent her to their normal IT professional who replaced the power brick for her. When she took the laptop home the keyboard was not working. She received a quote from the other IT professional which she didn't like, so asked if we would inspect the laptop fully and write a report for her. I said during the first phone call that their was a slight possibility that a surge could have damaged the laptop, but we would be able to ascertain that on inspection. We have not seen or inspected the laptop in question, nor have we charged Susan G any money. Once I advised that the inspection and official report would be $60, Susan decided that she would not bring the laptop to us. People who happily accept Susan's side of the story without knowing our side of the story are not worthy of comment. We have been in business for 19 years here in Moore Park Beach and I have been in the IT industry for 35 years. We would not still be in business if we were in the habit of telling lies, ripping people off, selling rubbish computers, or giving useless advice. We have many happy customers including some quite large businesses in Bundaberg. Many of these customers have been loyal to us for the whole 19 years. The few complaints that we have had over the 19 years have been almost exclusively because we refuse to break Microsoft licensing agreements and load pirate software on their computers. We pride ourselves on our reputation for supplying quality computers with quality parts inside, for providing that quality at a reasonable price, and for providing sensible and honest advice. Some people just don't like the advice we give them, or just don't like the truth.

06.01.2022 Starting today, if you have a Windows 7 system, Microsoft will try to scare you in to updating to Windows 10. Support is ending for Windows 7 - but that doesn't mean your computer won't go, or that your computer is suddenly going to be attacked; it just means that there is unlikely to be any more Windows Updates (which might be a good thing..). Please ignore the message and click on 'don't remind me'. If your PC is happy and doing everything you need it to do, you do NOT need to rush out and buy a new Windows 10 one.
