25.01.2022 Update about COVID-19 vaccines in Queensland. The Australian Government has identified and prioritised groups of people to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. T...he first people in Queensland to receive the vaccination are those who are at higher risk of getting COVID-19 or of severe illness if they contract the virus. If you are required to be tested frequently because of your daily work, then you will be the highest priority in Phase 1a. People in Phase 1a will be notified by Queensland Health in the coming weeks about when and where you can receive your vaccine. The full list of Queenslanders who fit into Phase 1b will be available soon. This vaccine effort is the greatest in global history and we only need to look overseas, to see a very different reality. We want to assure all Queenslanders, that everyone will have their time to receive the vaccine and we'll keep you updated with the latest information about COVID-19 vaccines, right here.

16.01.2022 BREAKING: Today we’re releasing a plan for Queensland borders. It means greater freedoms for people who are fully vaccinated, including crossing the border from... interstate hotspots in time for Christmas. Travel restrictions will ease when 70% and 80% of eligible Queenslanders are fully vaccinated. As with every decision we’ve taken throughout the global pandemic, this is a measured and cautious plan. We’re urging everyone who’s eligible to come forward and get vaccinated now. #covid19

15.01.2022 Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, heard of them? These are the three COVID-19 vaccines available in Queensland. All have been approved by the Therapeutic Goods Admi...nistration (TGA) and each can be found at different locations around the State to make them easier to access. Yes, these three vaccines have been made differently, but all offer strong levels of protection against COVID-19. They are all designed to trigger your immune system to make antibodies to the spike protein of the virus. This means if you were to ever get the COVID-19 virus, your body is better prepared to fight the illness. Check the below infographic for information on where to receive each individual vaccine and the differences between them. 12.01.2022 We get this question a lot, especially following the requirement for people to wear face masks in other parts of the country. Face masks can be a useful measur...e to help control sustained community transmission. Sustained community transmission is when we have multiple cases of locally acquired COVID-19 where contact tracing and testing is unable to identify how the person was infected. At the moment, there is no evidence to suggest that Queensland has any sustained community transmission. If you live in the greater region of Brisbane, a face mask might be suitable if: You are in a situation where social distancing cannot be maintained, i.e. public transport or a busy shopping centre If your GP has told you to wear one If you are caring for someone who has COVID-19 If you are attending a GP clinic, hospital or ED If you are sick and getting a COVID-19 test Face masks alone will not protect you from COVID-19. It is also vital that other COVID safe practices are followed, including: Washing hands often and thoroughly Maintaining a social distancing Covering coughs or sneezes Staying at home if unwell Getting tested if youre showing any signs of COVID-19.
