25.01.2022 Seasons come and go but friendships last forever at Beach Kids Early Learning & Preschool.

21.01.2022 Please excuse our fun, our Beach Kids are busy making memories!

21.01.2022 How do we talk about Remembrance Day with young children? We can talk about why we remember our brave soldiers and thank them for what they did so we can live in our peaceful country We can also start to introduce concepts such as war and peace, and how lucky we are to grow up in Australia. By openly discussing Remembrance Day, its history, real life stories of heroism and sacrifice, we lay the foundations for empathy, respect and Australian history #RemembranceDay #lestweforget2020

20.01.2022 All children deserve to feel safe. But how do they know what feels safe and what doesn't? We need to teach them!... So what do we need to know and how do we teach children about the feelings of safety and the early warning signs of feeling unsafe? Holly from Safe4Kids teaches us here: http://bit.ly/2m1mBB5

20.01.2022 Relationships at Beach Kids Early Learning & Preschool are the foundations for the construction of identity who I am, how I belong and what is my influence?

20.01.2022 Children's Health Queensland have created an amazing storybook called Birdie and the Virus designed to support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of babies and young children, their parents and families, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Reading 'Birdie and the Virus' with young children is a supportive and age-appropriate way to talk about COVID-19, including getting a test and staying away from others until we are better The Birdie and the Virus storybook is available for download or as an animated video and singalong here: https://www.childrens.health.qld.gov.au//natur/storybooks/

20.01.2022 Investing in children to prepare them for the best start in life is what our amazing early childhood educators do every day! Reinvesting in our beautiful service with a fantastic transformation of our playground creating an open space with plenty of space to run, jump and explore is truly rewarding. A new fort with a view, complete with slide, net and climbing wall!

18.01.2022 You know what's better than saying "this food is good for you"? Tell them what foods do in their body! We keep selling our kids short labeling foods and good/bad, healthy/unhealthy. Here are some examples of messages for different ages: For 2-3yo kids - Although it's not 100% accurate, its a good framework to get started. ... Red: gives you a strong heart Orange: helps you see in the dark Yellow: helps your body heal cuts Green: gives you super powers to fight off sickness Blue and Purple: Give you a strong brain White: gives you energy For 4s and 5s you can start being more specific - like carrots and sweet potatoes help you be able to see in the dark. Clementines help your skin heal cuts. Broccoli helps your night vision, your skin heal, AND your bones be strong. For 4s/5s and 6s you can introduce the idea that some foods do a lot of things in their bodies and some foods do a few things. All the while, model the way you want your kids to eat in your home and serve them the balanced diet you want them to eat. That's more powerful than anything you could ever tell them. See more

10.01.2022 As Deb Blakley from Kids Dig Food explains, we get to form our children's relationship with food and it's important to find a balance between 'unlimited access'... and 'unnecessary restriction' because neither of these are healthy for our kids. For more insights on how to manage things like chocolate and chips, check out the full video from Deb Blakley here: https://parenttv.com/videos/forbidden-foods/

07.01.2022 Continual improvement is what we strive for at Beach Kids. It’s not competition, but being better today than we were yesterday. Since opening nearly a year and a half ago we have done and will continue to reinvest in our amazing early childhood educators (people) and environment. This weekend we had some new timber gates installed in our nursery and preschool playgrounds. Can any of our families suggest what you would like to see next?
