21.01.2022 So this popped up on my Facebook memory of 2 years ago at Singleton. These bare walls, are now lined with paper & paint. The furnishings are simple & minimal but there is a warmth that is ever present. With over 2200+ classes during that time we have experienced so much together! Highs, lows, copious hugs, we've nurtured each other through surgeries, life injuries, BIG belly laughs, tears of joy & tears of sorrow & of course a pandemic (who ever would have thought?!). ... To my beautiful teachers, thank you for trusting me & taking my hand when I needed support. Forever in gratitude The last 2 years I've grown so much through this experience & I feel so grateful of all the meaningful friendships made. These walls are so much more than a studio but a sanctuary, a gathering place, a hub of support, when you just need to leave it on the mat. Thank you all so much for loving support always Suz

08.01.2022 Patanjali says in yoga sutra 1.14 that The practice of yoga is firmly rooted when maintained consistently with commitment over a long period of time. Consistent practice over time with commitment; this can be a daunting concept. As a spontaneous young free woman I struggled at commitment and the discipline that consistent practice implied. I moved quickly from activity to activity but when things went wrong........... I turned to self study every.single.time. Predictable r...outine was just too much for me, until I got sick............... The very act of committing to a regular yoga class changed me. This commitment turned out not to be a hardship, but a refuge. The things that I had to give up to attend class or my own practice turned out to be things that I no longer needed. This commitment is still installed in me today, every day. The real commitment is to yourself, could this be your medicine too? Suz

03.01.2022 Why do we remove your shoes when we enter into the studio space// The yoga space is a sacred space, a place where we come to connect with our breath and explore the deeper workings of our consciousness. Taking our shoes off before we enter the space means we can pause for a moment; and shed some of what we’ve been carrying around before we begin our practice. Removal of shoes is a sign of respect for the space and on a more practical level, a way of maintaining it’s cleanl...iness. In fact, in India and other places feet have a lot of symbolism, and shoes are considered unclean (well we do walk about in them all day). It’s considered rude to point your feet at another person, an altar or a sacred symbol, including OM. This is why many people turn around before taking rest at the end of class. Therefore as a sign of respect, and a way of honouring the culture from which yoga came, please always remove your footwear before entering our yoga spaces. We also have pigeon holes to put all your gear into, so we can keep our space as clear & less distracting.

01.01.2022 STICK MOBILITY classes @ Beachside Thurs 9:15am Want to move better? Mobility exercises tend to have a calming feeling and will help you release stress.... They improve your range of motion and will prevent the stiffness that comes with muscle build-up and strength training. They can be a low-intensity exercise that will give your body a break and help it heal from high-intensity training. They will add variety and change to your regular workout routine and help keep you motivated. Mobility training will also help keep signs of age at bay. Your body would be supple and flexible for a longer period of time. These exercises can actually be a warm up for your regular workout routine. Mobility exercises can also keep problems like back ache, knee pain, and other such problems away. It can help improve performance in other physical activities like games and sports.
