25.01.2022 You may have seen the confusion recently in the media regarding restrictions for Allied Health during Stage 4, we all now have some clarification from DHHS and our Association. We can remain open under the following guidelines: DHHS Guidelines for Allied Health Appointments during Stage 4 Restrictions:... All AHPRA registered health practitioners (includes Osteopaths) can provide services that prevent a significant change/deterioration in functional independence necessitating escalation of care, e.g. a requirement for specialist input/review, an increase in care needs, avoiding a hospital admission or emergency department presentation. (Appointments are for essential & urgent reasons). Routine / Maintenance treatment needs to be rescheduled to after the 6 week lockdown. If you feel your issue meets these guidelines please call the clinic and we will organise for a practitioner to chat with you.

15.01.2022 Our team has made the decision to close our clinics for all face to face appointments as of 3pm Friday, 27th of March. Information is being communicated daily regarding the spread of COVID-19 in our society and we believe closing our doors at the end of this week until further notice is the best decision for our patients, our team, all of our families and for the wider community. If you have an appointment booked for next week, this will automatically be cancelled and your practitioner will call you to offer advice and guidance to manage at home. 15.01.2022 Welcome Liam! (Osteopath) We are excited to welcome Liam to the team, he is available for appointments every Tuesday and Thursday and will also be available Monday afternoons in November. Liam graduated from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Health Science/Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy) and started his career in Melbourne. Liam has a keen interest in the treatment and rehabilitation of headache and migraine, neck pain, chronic back and hip pain. Liam draws on tradi...tional osteopathic techniques, dry needling and rehabilitation exercises to give his clients a holistic treatment plan dedicated to achieving their injury recovery goals. Suffering from chronic headaches throughout his early twenties, Liam understands the suffering endured by headache sufferers. He has since devoted time and energy into helping these people regain control of their symptoms because he knows first hand how rewarding it can be for patients to recover from headache and migraine. Liam has completed further studies in the field of headache and migraine completing the 3 day Watson Headache Institute, Level 1 Foundation Headache Course titled The Role of C1-C3 Cervical Afferents in Primary Headache. He utilises this along with traditional osteopathic techniques to provide a holistic approach to headache and migraine. Bianca graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Clinical Science and Master of Clinical Science (Osteopathy). Bianca finds enjoyment treating people from all walks of life with the use of osteopathic techniques such as mobilisation, soft tissue and manipulation. She also values the use of rehabilitation and functional moveme...nt approaches to help patients return to a particular task or exercise goal. Bianca is a current Australian Taekwondo Athlete having competed and assisted on the international circuit for many years. This has developed a particular interest in the treatment of chronic sporting injuries and athlete management. She is passionate about educating patients on the important link between nutrition and strength and conditioning to maximise injury recovery and prevention. Bianca has experience working alongside the medical team at Hawthorn VFLW and has completed further training in Dry Needling. Outside of work, Bianca can be found sharing her Taekwondo knowledge through teaching, travelling abroad and enjoying many coffees at her local cafe.

Read on to find out a bit more about your headaches and how we can can help!!... Have you ever considered your neck could be contributing to your headache? For those who suffer from headaches and migraines you may feel you have certain 'triggers' that set off a headache. Whilst this may be partly true, have you ever considered that that trigger may be 'the straw that broke the camel's back'? Research is suggests that some headaches are a product of a combination of contributing factors (Roytas. D., Tension and migraine headache, 2014). These factors may include: diet, hormones, stress, posture, as well as, neck (cervical spine) dysfunction (Bogduk. N., The Neck and Headaches, 2014). By addressing the physical factors the aim is to reduce the frequency and intensity of a headache. The belief is that by addressing the upper three vertebrae of the neck and the surrounding musculature the stress on the brainstem within can be reduced. 02.01.2022 A big THANKYOU to everyone who has helped to raise $826 this week at BBB. The reality is that the fires are continuing to burn, and continuing to put new communities under threat. We are also aware that this disaster is having a catastrophic effect on our wildlife. We will be donating half of our total to the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund and half to Wildlife Victoria. Fingers crossed some of this rain gets to where it is needed most.
