Unfortunately we only had 20 - however the lady paid for them and kindly asked us to ‘Pay it Forward’ to people throughout the day As we passed out the donuts we explained what the lady had done, and everyone one of those 20 people who received them were touched! 11.01.2022 Mental Health Awareness Usually on our socials you see delicious pies, cakes etc- but today it’s something different! Today it’s all about YOU and checking in! ... Steve’s beautiful cousin @karleehayes did a thing! A BIG thing - huge even!! She decided to run her little heart and legs out to promote mental health awareness for 30 days. And that was no easy task she set herself. She asked friends and family to pledge a monetary value for each kilometre she ran. Be it 5 cents or $2 - it did not matter. Karlee was running in memory of their cousin Ashley - and he loved running! The aim was 300k’s on the clock however Karlee well surpassed that running up a massive 500kms in 30 days. So today we sat down and we’ve donated $500 to @livin_org. They support breaking the stigma around mental health and supporting everyone with #itaintweaktospeak. They help people to unite and start LIVIN again after tough times - through education programs delivered to our young people and through creating movements with a brand. As Victoria starts to break its way out of lockdown always remember that our little Bakehouse is full of friendly faces and we are always here for a chat. We genuinely want to know that you are all okay! We genuinely care about what’s going on in your day when we ask you. Times have been tough this year and we understand that! But rallying together as a community and supporting one another - well that’s something pretty darn special. Remember to check in with your mates, with your family, with your next door neighbour. Say hi to the person standing next to you at the bakery - and ask them about their day. Be patient and most importantly be kind. Be kind to yourself, and to one another.
