25.01.2022 THESE TWO LOCAL LEGENDS TOOK UP SURFING AT 50 YEARS OLD! And this is their beloved Moffat Beach Headland, where in August 1973 a memorial plaque was unveiled. Marjorie "Ma" and Charles "Pa" Bendall were prominent Australian surfing identities from the early 1960s through to the 1970s. ... They were the oldest surfers catching waves, and that was the origin of the nicknames, Ma and Pa. In 1966 the invitational "Moffateers" was formed by Charles. This was a surfing club to promote integrity and sportsmanship in surfing. To be in the Moffateers you had to behave yourself and be of good character, not sure Lyle and I would fit in lol. The inaugural Pa Bendall surfing contest was held in 1974 as a mark of respect after his death in 1973. Marjorie died in 2001, aged 91. There is now a long-standing contest known as the Pa and Ma Bendall surfing contest to honour both of them which is held around Easter every year. I've tried surfing, not very good at it, and Lyle's even worse . Can you surf? Tell me where in the comments. See more

25.01.2022 Covid can't stop the flowers from shining! And the annual Carnival of Flowers is still going ahead in Toowoomba, albeit in a virus friendly way. These beautiful gardens are free to wander around. The council and people of this lovely city should be so proud of what they achieve every year.... I absolutely loved the different types of flowers and the garden designs. Can you see me in the background enjoying the view? See more

24.01.2022 Yesterday we said goodbye to a family member. It was a very sad day. None of us know when our journey will end, so until that time, smile brighter, laugh louder, hug more often, tell your loved ones how you feel, enjoy the sun on your face, take in the view and travel more.

23.01.2022 BUSHFIRES AND DROUGHT can't stop these native wattle from shining through. Some times we need to go through tough times to realise that what we can achieve. Walking through the.Giraween National Park today was so nice to see the bushland regenerating after the horrific bushfires and two year drought.

20.01.2022 So our exploration of the Granite Belt Wine Region begins. I'm very happy to say that I have an electric blanket on my bed!

19.01.2022 Family, fun, beach describes my awesome week in one of my favourite places.

19.01.2022 WE DIDN'T EXPECT TO SEE THIS on our to the pub! BRIGHT COLOURS EVERYWHERE you go in Toowoomba. How gorgeous is this street art?... Such a feast for your eyes. It covers a whole wall. I absolutely love when street art and murals brighten an otherwise dull, boring eyesore. Do you like it? See more

17.01.2022 So frickn beautiful!

16.01.2022 Check out this guy's voice. Lyle LOVES this song. What do you think?

14.01.2022 WOW was the first word Lyle said to me when we originally met! He was worried that he might have blown it, but as you can see from our happy faces above, that was certainly not the case. Tomorrow is our 4th wedding anniversary, and I have to say we have had an absolute ball together. We feel very blessed that we have such a happy, healthy life. ... We are also aware that life can be short and that we need to make the most of our time together. We decided three years or so ago, that we were going to downsize, stop buying crap we didn’t need and start making lots of memories. This is a memory we made recently on a trip to Airlie Beach. This is the world-famous Whitehaven Beach, which some say, is the most beautiful beach in the world. Do you agree? Should we all be making more memories? Tell me what you think in the comments below. 13.01.2022 This is CROCODILE DUNDEE COUNTRY. Can you see any CROCODILES in this rock pool? This is Buley Rock Pool in the Litchfield National Park. Luckily there are no crocs here. It is just one of three swimming spots on our day tour with Damo of Litchefield Escapes. It was a hot day, around 37 degrees, so you can imagine just how welcome this cool water hole was. The whole day was full of fun, fascinating and scary experiences. We learnt so much about the local area, the... flora and fauna and and we were completely fooled (and when I say we, I mean the whole 24 people on the bus trip), when driving along Damo screaches to a halt on the side of the road and yells, "Snakes, coloured snakes everywhere". We all jump up out of our seats with phones in hand to capture all these snakes, when Damo starts passing bags of Snakes lollies back to everyone. Good one Damo! Do you think Damo was funny? He sure did. Like my swimming spot? Let me know in the comments. See more

11.01.2022 THIS IS OUR SUNSET VIEW! There's nothing that says "I'm on holidays" like having a glass of wine and watching the sun slowly sink into the ocean. What says "holidays" to you?

09.01.2022 Love this place

09.01.2022 Great place for HIDE AND SEEK! These huge boulders form this famous landmark called Granite Arch. They are in the.Giraween National Park which runs along the Queensland, NSW border. ... 08.01.2022 You have exactly one life in which to do everything you will ever do. Act accordingly. Colin Wright. Pretty powerful message. Do you agree?

07.01.2022 Are you afraid of flying, or prefer to travel by bus?

06.01.2022 CAN YOU SEE ANY WHALES? There are plenty of vantage points along the shore to spot them, and this is one of the best at Moffat Headland. I did see a couple this morning on my walk, so they are starting their slow trip home. Unfortunately they were too shy when I tried to capture them on video. ... Every year approximately 60,000 (yes that’s correct, 60 thousand!!) Humpback Whales travel over 10,000km up the east coast of Australia between April and November to have their babies in the warm sub-tropical waters. The majority of humpbacks migrate north from June to August, and back towards the Southern Ocean from September to November. Groups of young males typically lead the migration while pregnant cows and cow-calf pairs bring up the rear. Adult breeding animals form the bulk of the migration in the middle stages. Here, on the Sunshine Coast we don’t see many whales on their way north, but we certainly get a fabulous show while they are on their way back. The whales come in much closer to the shore and you can see the baby whales, frolicking and playing in the shallower waters. Have you been whale watching? Let me know where in the comments. See more

02.01.2022 THIS IS OUR VIEW FOR 3 NIGHTS! We are on Tangalooma Island just over an hour off the coast of Brisbane. It seems like the perfect getaway spot, with gorgeous white sand beaches and sunken wrecks for snorkelling and diving.... The beach is spacious and lined with luscious green grass and shady palm trees. We are off scuba diving today, so very excited. Please follow if you would like to know more about this island paradise. See more
