24.01.2022 You won’t be able to tell if your heater is leaking carbon monoxide because you can’t see it or smell it. Be sure your gas heater is safe. Have it serviced at least once every two years by a qualified gasfitter. For more information go to https://esv.vic.gov.au/campaigns/carbon-monoxide/

22.01.2022 Have a fire plan this summer

20.01.2022 This evening at 5:40pm, CFA brigades stood united across the state to remember our fallen Victoria Police colleagues who tragically lost their lives one week ago. Sirens rang for four cycles in honour of the four officers, to mark their service and the ultimate sacrifice they paid in the line of duty. We will not forget you and we will always stand by you

14.01.2022 With cold weather well and truly settling in, residential house fires become a bigger risk in Victoria. Don’t leave laptops or phones charging on your bed.

13.01.2022 People need to remember that when electrical appliances are left on for an extended period of time they could overheat and have disastrous effects. We also recommend checking your electrical appliances for product recall notices using the www.productsafety.gov.au website.

12.01.2022 Are you planning a burn-off? You’ll need to follow some basic rules: Check weather conditions, monitoring the wind. Adhere to local council laws and regulations, and always register your burn-off by calling 1800 668 511 or emailing: [email protected]

05.01.2022 Friday the 13/11/20 was a tragic day for the team at OMY Beaconsfield. 7 fire trucks from Beaconsfield CFA, Berwick Fire Brigade CFA, CFA - Pakenham Fire Brigade and Fire Rescue Victoria fire trucks from Dandenong (FS87) and Pakenham (FS93) were called shortly after lunch to a roof fire. Upon arriving the crews worked swiftly to contain the fire to the roof of the kitchen and dining room. Access to the high ceilings hindered extinguishment of the fire. Thankfully everyone was evacuated before crews arrived. #WeWorkAsOne CFA (Country Fire Authority)

03.01.2022 We are urging residents to check their electrical appliances including computers and televisions which are more readily used in home at present. Check you’re not overloading power-boards or have loose cables, ensure monitors, laptops, televisions and other equipment have a good air flow around them and are not in confined spaces or covered for example leaving laptops and mobile phones on your beds.
