21.01.2022 Extract from the Beacy History Book. "On the afternoon of 24th September 1918, Beaconsfield School held a ceremony and planted several trees to honour 27 previous students of the school who had fallen in the war. Memorial tablets were unveiled by the children under each tree and the headmaster Mr. R Llewllyn, teachers, students and the local community attended the event. Mr Andrews, the Director of Education made a speech thanking the children for honouring those who had given their lives for the Empire and the cause of freedom The choir sang lest we forget and the national anthem. The Rev. Mr F. R. Bowen said a prayer for the soldiers." (photo of James Leslie Vincent, who was sent to France for the war in 1916. Mr Vincent became principal at Beacy from 1941-1943)

06.01.2022 The reunion meeting boards are nearly finished for this Saturday's big day.

06.01.2022 Sent today by email from an ex beacy student. I have received information about the reunion on 24th October and a couple of our commencement class of 1958 will be coming. I share with you my Grade 7 Girls Basketball photo (from 1964). Names of girls plus Teacher are:... Front L to R: Kathleen Wesley(#4); Margaret Parry (#2); Helen Lewington (#1); Sheryl Maffina (#7) Back L to R Judith Byrnes (#6, deceased); Lorna Jenkins (#5); Mrs Vezey (Teacher coach); Kathy Moffet (); Dianne House (#3). I (Helen Parker nee Lewington ) and Sheryl Della Vedova (nee Maffina) will be coming. We have received the invitation you recently sent out to your database via my cousin. My parents Beth and Clive Lewington were very involved in the school P&C for many years in the 60s particularly. They were drivers behind the establishment of the Oslo Lunch Hall on the old site and Mum was one of the volunteers who made lunches every day for the school kids who ordered their lunch (salad, raw peanuts, cheese, polony). I can remember the annual fundraising fete for the school where mum would make numerous gingham aprons and table clothes for sale, and Dad would be responsible for the chocolate wheel. Mum late became the pair administrator to several headmasters in the 90s. Cant recall their names now. I remember my teachers as Grade 1 Mrs Pummer; Grade 2 Mr Terry Dean; Grade 3 &$ Mr Tuckwell; Grade 5 Ms Bean; Grade 6 & 7 Ms Arnott. Principal was Mr Kingsley throughout. I look forward to the day next Saturday. Kind Regards Helen Parker

We will be doing 1 print run of 500 copies, and we are just trying to decide the best way for people to pre order online. More info soon
