25.01.2022 John started his love affair with the travel industry over 50 years ago at Ansett Airlines where he worked in the International Travel Department for 10 years before deciding to open the family agency in Hawthorn, where he was born & bred & still barracks for the Hawks! As do all the family! From their round world honeymoon in 1970 to the families African safari last year, exploring our own backyard & the world has been a constant bucket list experience. Having looked after t...he travel needs of many Australian sporting groups such as baseball, softball & the rifle shooting teams along with their families & taking him to Olympic Games all over the world, in the mid 90’s he was presented with the life changing opportunity to be responsible for the Australian War Memorial battlefield tours to Gallipoli & the Western Front, where we are now considered the leaders in these tours. It is a passion he still shares & after 22 years of continuous Anzac Day Dawn Service’s at Gallipoli, this year he greatly misses our friends & colleagues in Turkey very much. Along with the African safari, he counts a family Christmas at Whistler & driving tours of Turkey & Croatia with his wife Sue, as highlights. With their love of National Parks and Sue being an avert quilter, they have also visited every state in America, driving thousands of miles either in large motor-homes with the family in tow or big SUV cruisers. In more recent years John has become a cruise convert, cruising the Mediterranean, Greek Islands, Canada/Alaska & Scandinavia aboard the Hurtigruten, as well as numerous European river cruises. While he has now cut down his time in the office, his passion for travel will never end and although halted for now, his bucket list of destinations is still to be completed. See more

23.01.2022 The global Coronavirus pandemic is devastating and the affects its is having globally is heartbreaking, it is affecting all of our families, our businesses, our communities and our way of life and on that note we are sad to advise that our very own colleague Peter Symons, will be finishing up his time with Beaconsfield Travel Centre on Friday. We would like to say a big thank you to Peter for his loyalty, hard work, reliability and passion he has given our business and our cl...ients, throughout the last 14 years. His presence in the office will be missed and his sense of humour and compassion for all cannot be replaced, Peter leaves with a heavy heart but as we know family always comes first! So please join us in wishing him all the best in his change of career and for a very happy and healthy future ahead for he and his beautiful wife and boys! See more

20.01.2022 Hola Mexico, A place that can tickle everyone’s fancy from it’s stunning beaches, quant cultural towns, crystal clear cenotes, ancient ruin filled jungle, cactus covered plains & bustling cities. After landing in Cancun, we made our way down to Tulum, then onto Palenque, San Cristobal, Mazunte, Oaxaca and finally Mexico City. I enjoyed every part of this amazing country, I especially loved trying the local food and needless to say I was taco’d out by the end of it! I travelled in February to enjoy the best of the weather. I learnt a lot about the history, the culture, the language, the people and will forever have fond memories of this experience.

18.01.2022 CLIENT DIARIES: BY WAYNE & JENNY WATSON Like many people, travel has long been an interest with many trips to both overseas and Australia. We are often asked what your favourite overseas trip is. many come to mind, although our Safari in Africa is hard to beat the sheer number and breadth of animals in their natural state; and the marvellous lodges and the people; staying and dining at the Victoria Falls Hotel. Having been to London/UK many times, it is always worthwhile ... including mainstream Europe as well; and although the world keeps getting smaller, places like Russia, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Oman, Croatia, Morocco, Turkey, Japan, China, interior Alaska, and Iceland are of special interest as they were a little more different. There are also the many memorable moments including: Listening to the pianist play As Time goes By at Ricks Place, Casablanca; jazz music and atmosphere at Preservation Hall, New Orleans; the serenity of Arlington Cemetery, Washington DC; the Alamo, Texas; JFK Museum, Dallas; the view from our room at Lake Louise, Canada; morning tea with gypsies in Romania; the remains from warring factions in Sarajevo; standing on the Mostar Bridge; the magnificent underground salt mine in Poland; Auschwitz Birkenau concentration camps; magnificent cherry blossoms in Japan; Gallipoli; The Fields of Flanders; the Blue Lagoon, Reykjavik; Camel riding in the Sahara; Alhambra Palace, Granada; Walking the Great Wall; a month in Italy; the magnificence of The Hermitage in St Petersburg; various cruises from overseas ports. We have always valued the long relationship and great friendly service of Boronia/Beaconsfield Travel in putting together our itineraries, making bookings and their knowledgeable advice and support. 13.01.2022 Words to explain our feelings right now!

08.01.2022 Having been born in the same year the family business began, in her mind there was never an alternative to becoming a travel agent, eventually taking up permanent residence more than 24 years ago! With her travels beginning at a very young age & taking her to more than 50 countries including extensively throughout Europe, she lists walking the Great Wall of China, trekking the mountains of Rwanda to see the Gorillas & Christmas in Whistler with all of the family as absolute h...ighlights but a city girl at heart, Paris is always the favourite! Michelle devotes much of her time to our specialised battlefield tours program, seeing it as an honour to assist our tour members in visiting battlefields and cemeteries around the world where relatives fought and sometimes died, often accompanying them & sharing in their stories. She considers herself extremely fortunate to combine her passion with work and in doing so, is able to share her vast experience and knowledge with clients when planning their dream holiday where ever that may be. Michelle, like so many of our clients, cannot wait until the day we next board that aeroplane to explore the world once again. See more
