21.01.2022 Fight MND are having to run their fundraising campaign a little differently this year. At this stage, COVID-19 restrictions are preventing our Club selling their merchandise but we can still help them with the fight. 20.01.2022 Dandenong Basketball Association have suspended all basketball games indefinitely. Can DBA Team Managers and Coaches please ensure their teams are notified ASAP? There is no further update from Pakenham as yet, but we will update you when we know more.

20.01.2022 BEACY BANDITS BUSHFIRE FUNDRAISING BBQ FOR CLIFTON CREEK PRIMARY SCHOOL Hi Bandits, the fundraising team will be over the grill again on Sat 15th Feb for Clifton Creek Primary School! The school burnt down in the recent bushfires and all profits raised will go directly towards helping them get back on their feet & rebuilding. As a club, we are working on developing our young bandits social awareness, so following on from our support of Freeze MND and donating basketballs ...to Taree, we feel this fundraiser is a great way of allowing kids to help kids through the tough times. Please come on down and grab a sausage in bread (gluten free available) or an egg & bacon sanga from 8am at Cardinia Life. Club merchandise (caps & drink bottles) will also be available on the day, so bring your cash and show your support this Sat 15th Feb! Profits from all sales on the day will be donated. 20.01.2022 Registrations for the upcoming Pakenham & Dandenong seasons are now open and will close on Saturday 19th December (1 week) Pakenham will be running an extended Winter Competition commencing in 30th January with 24 rounds, followed by 3 weeks finals. Dandenong will be running a modified Summer Competition commencing in 16th January with 14 rounds, followed by 2 weeks of finals. ... All members have been emailed further information and details on how to register. Please check your junk email or contact the club if you have not received anything.

17.01.2022 Hi Bandits Families, We hope that you are all staying healthy and looking forward to a return to sport for our kids. There have been many different announcements in the past few weeks about when we may be able to return to basketball. As the information is changing so often, we have held off any club updates until we are given more clear and positive news to share.... Yesterday, Daniel Andrews announced a return to junior sport from 22nd June. However, we are governed by Basketball Victoria and await further details from them, PDBA & DBA this week in regards to what this actually means for the commencement of indoor training and games. Also and especially what the Winter Season (if any) may look like. Please be assured that as soon as we are given directive from Basketball Victoria via PDBA & DBA, we will get the message out to our members. Hopefully we will have these answers soon, so stay tuned. 17.01.2022 UNIFORM COLLECTION AND TEAM MANAGER KITS COLLECTION NOTICE: As per the email that has been sent out previously to members: This Friday between 4pm and 5:30pm Is your uniform collection day and also the day team managers or coaches can bring their coaches kits for topping up. Every team should have a TM or Coach attend with their kits because even if you think you have everything, we have awards and hand sanitiser to hand out for your kits. ... Parents, If you cannot make it, please arrange for someone from your team to collect on your behalf as this is our only stage to do it at this point and we want kids to have their uniforms for Saturday. All uniforms must be paid in full prior to pick up. Collection Point is Beaconsfield Primary School at the under cover area outside of the stadium. Please do not enter the stadium unless you are there for training. Please let us know if you have any questions.

In summary, as basketball is played indoors and a contact sport, there is no return date locked in yet. We will need to await further announcements on the 8th of November. 13.01.2022 IMPORTANT NEWS Yesterday morning, some of our committee and families headed off to Bairnsdale before dawn. We were pleased to meet with students, families, staff and volunteers from Clifton Creek Primary School, recently destroyed by bush fires. This school of 10 students is pivotal to their community and provides a unique and positive influence on their students. On behalf of our committee and members, we were very proud to present the school with: - A cheque to the value o...f $3,161.10 which was the combined profits of our club's fundraising BBQ matched dollar for dollar by the club. - Other items to the value of $600 which included basketballs and Captain Koala toys for students and siblings. Clifton Creek's school community was very appreciative and humbled. They hope to be moving back into portable classrooms in term 2 whilst their school is rebuilt. Although the Education Department covers the cost of buildings, it will not replace outdoor learning and play areas such as their kitchen garden. We hope this contribution helps re-establish these areas for them. 04.01.2022 !!!!REMINDER!!!!!!! To attend our FREE return to basketball coaching clinic, each child must be registered. Due to covid, we cannot accept walk ups on the day. And each child must be registered separately not as a family. We currently have 80 attending, it will be a great day!... We can't wait to see all the smiling faces!!
