25.01.2022 053 Detail of face beads.

22.01.2022 This necklace is very light and fine. The beads are small but all are precious. The central bead is a faceted Labradorite. The gold beads were sold to us by a lady from Sulawesi,. There are pearls, turquoise, amber, garnet, coral, deep green chrysoprase, and, carnelian. Message for the price. Catalog No. 52

10.01.2022 This necklace is strung with a collection of face beads and mosaic beads found in a single cache that I wished to keep together. The construction of the beads is unusual in that the glass canes appear to have been cut in slivers and then fused. I believe that these are an attempt by the bead maker to replicate the early Roman beads and would have been made in the first millennia. ( 100 AD to 1000 AD ) Read more about the making of face beads on my musing https://baliqueartsofindonesia.com/blogs/blog/face-beads catalog 53 in my collection. It is not yet published on my website https://baliqueartsofindonesia.com/collectio/historic-beads

10.01.2022 136 Mother of Pearl and silver pendant strung on a strand of old dark green Indo-Pacific trade beads, $385

07.01.2022 054. The center of this necklace is a wild red coral from the Timor sea with ancient hexagonal bicone Buddha beads (read more on my buddha bead blog ) Another buddha bead I used in the tie. All the other beads are ancient except the Chinese red coral is also old. There is a couple of 16th century blue beads from Mali and the pear-shaped beads are archaeological finds, possibly 1000 years+ old. Towards the end are some unusual black Indo-Pacific beads, also possibly hundreds of years old $ 550

04.01.2022 The lockdown has been good in one way, in that I have been really creative. I am planning to invite people to see my work once the restrictions lift a little. This necklace is made from African amber beads combined with African trade beads, coral, blue Ming, and antique wood beads covered in gold foil from Sumatra, strung on German silk thread.

04.01.2022 Catalogue No 50. A new necklace made exclusively of ancient and antique beads. This has not yet been posted on my website. The large translucent green hexagonal bi-cone buddha beads are from the first millennium AD. They have traces of soil that has infiltrated the natural fissures in the glass during their long burial. The smaller hexagonal bicones are also very old. I guess about 1000 years. You can read more about Buddha beads on the blog https://baliqueartsofindonesia.co...m//hexagonal-bicone-or-bu The two gold beads are antique Balinese with exquisite fine wirework on each side of the large centerpiece bead. There are four Venetian eye beads (18-19th century) and the remainder of the necklace is turquoise colored Indo-Pacific beads. The tie bead is an opaque blue bi-cone buddha bead showing erosion, again as a result of its long burial. Necklace length 68 cm See more

02.01.2022 135 Hand-drawn and blown Murano beads with round and faceted moonstone beads on German silk .....Sold $275

01.01.2022 This is a fabulous necklace of blue and green, translucent, hexagonal bicone buddha beads interspersed with Indo-Pacific beads and old Balinese gold plated silver beads. The Buddha beads are from 1000 AD or earlier. Read more about Buddha beads by clicking on the image and following the link in the description there. The bead on the tie is different but also ancient. It is similar to a bead described by I C Glover in his occasional paper, as cuboid rhombic dodecahedron imitating a natural crystal. I have put the link to the article on that image description too.
