04.01.2022 It is with regret, I am making this announcement. The Bead Society of Victoria is suspending all bead meetings for the immediate future, indefinitely. The decision is not being made lightly, but is in line with recommended Government and World Health Organisation announcements. On behalf of the committee, I am sharing this decision, which was made as a group, and we feel this is important for our membership, and demographic. ... Additionally, we are facing issues with our regular venues closing, with Northcote Library being shut immediately, and Carnegie Library working on a on a day by day schedule. In the meantime, we are suggesting ways for our beading community to stay connected: Become part of our Members Only Facebook Group Share projects you are working on by posting pictures (or ask for help if you need it) Support your local bead store by buying beads online Get together with some of your beading friends for smaller bead catch ups Watch out for some online projects on our Facebook Group and website, to keep your beading inspiration going Work through some of your beading stash projects such a great way to get through all the beads we all have hoarded away. Start thinking about your challenge piece for 2020 beads are being sourced and finalised at the moment, so you can register for this on the website shortly If you’re feeling isolated please, reach out to a beading friend have a virtual beading session over the phone. Speaker phone is marvellous for keeping your hands free and beading and chatting at the same time. I realise this is a disappointing announcement, in light of all the doom and gloom going on in the world, but our members health and well being is the most important thing we have facing us in the immediate future.
