22.01.2022 Our volunteers play a vital role at Bear Cottage and we can’t thank them enough for all they do each and every day to support our children and families. However, it is our Volunteer Manager Rachel Simpson who leads this amazing group of people ensuring more than 130 volunteers are trained, supported and cared for. It is a big job but one that Rachel does with energy, passion, humour and dedication. Today, on International Volunteer Manager’s Day, we send Rachel a huge thank you we are so lucky to have you! 19.01.2022 It was our great pleasure to thank the wonderful Elanora Country Club for their incredibly generous donation of $50,000 which they have raised from their recently held "Creative Exhibition". Represented by Club President Jenny Robinson, Event Organiser Lyn Hercus and Associates Captain Sally Eisdell, this fabulous result would not have been possible without the full support and involvement of the Elanora Country Club's membership. They have worked tirelessly for many months creating and selling artwork, sourcing prizes for raffles and curating the exhibition over a full week in October. We send our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved - this donation will have a huge impact on the children and families in our care.

07.01.2022 Our Caravan of Care has had a busy few days visiting our families from Central Western NSW. Along with visits to the paediatric wards of Dubbo and Orange hospitals, we also took the opportunity to visit Allira Aboriginal Day Care Centre where we were able to deliver some Christmas gifts to the children. Special thanks to the Dubbo Police who took time out to provide a BBQ lunch for everyone to enjoy. And after such a hectic schedule even Santa needed to take some time out... to just enjoy sitting in the shade with beautiful Stella and Manly Bear. #caravanofcare #bearcottage #connection See more

These beautiful cards have been designed by the very talented Jess Parker - with some help from some of our Bear Cottage children. Jess trained as an Assistant in Nursing at Bear Cottage and we are fortunate to have the benefit of her artistic skills. 04.01.2022 We send our heartfelt thanks to The Styling Project, Stylists in Brookvale a company that transforms properties to help them sell faster. Great believers of giving back, they decided to have a "warehouse sale" of assorted homewares and in the process, raised an incredible $10,000. Bear Cottage is a cause close to their heart, with the money being raised in memory of Neve Brady, the daughter of one of their staff. The Styling Project are hoping this will become an annual event and we are so grateful for the difference that this support will make for the children and families in our care.

01.01.2022 It’s ‘Fish Friday’ at Bear Cottage! Each fortnight for almost nine years, John and the team from Musumeci Seafoods at the Sydney Fish Market have been donating salmon fillets for our children and families to enjoy for lunch. Not one for a fuss, John says that he is always happy to donate in this way because he knows that 100% of his fish is coming to Bear Cottage and that it is their small way of supporting our families during difficult times. As you can see, Chef Owen has no... problem knowing exactly what to do once he receives the fish and of course we all know what to do once it is served on our plates! Thank you to Musumeci Seafoods for your incredibly generous and kind support over many years and boy do we all love Friday!
