25.01.2022 Would you like to see what I have been working on all week?? It all started like this... Last Sunday I received a call from a client... "Is there any chance that you might have or would be able to create a little black "pampered" poodle -- I would need it for the end of the month to give to a friend who has a very much loved poodle called Rosie" Well no I didn't have a little black poodle, in fact I had never even made a doggy before!!! But being one that never back...s away from a challenge -- I thought BRING IT ON!!! So from choosing the bestest poodle fabric I could find to adding all the little trinkets that only a very pampered pooch would have -- I have had a ball all week... and thats how little Rosie was born. Hope you enjoy these pics

25.01.2022 I found these little buttons which have been in my stash for at least 25 years and they have just inspired me... So guess what I'm making??? I should have something to show you by tomorrow night (fingers crossed )

20.01.2022 It's time to celebrate My hubby set up a new workstation for me last Friday in the attic and this was all the inspiration I needed to leave the unpacking behind and sit at my new table... It felt so strange, the first time I had picked up a needle and thread in weeks... Even felt a little guilty at first, as out of the corner of my eye I could still see boxes waiting patiently to be unpacked and their contents stored away... But nevertheless I turned a blind eye, and ov...er the weekend, I just did what I truly love to do, what makes my heart sing -- and that is CREATE... So now I have something really special to show you... Her name is Su-Lin and she's a gorgeous little pink and black panda bear... The first creation in my new abode, "Magnolias-on-Thames"... What do you think??? Su-Lin has already tugged at someone's heartstrings and will be travelling to her new home in Tasmania very very shortly... See more

20.01.2022 Hello my dear friends and followers... Welcome to 2021... I pray that this year will be a good one for all of us... filled with opportunities to let our light shine bright and be a sparkly example of kindness and goodness to all those who cross our path... My first commission for the year is a bear that has been ordered especially for a little bubby due to come into this world end of February... At this stage we don't know whether it will be a little girl or boy, an...d it is highly unlikely that we will find out before he/she arrives... So to make sure that I have both bases covered, I have made two pairs of overalls -- one in PINK and one in BLUE. Only time will tell which pair the bear will be wearing... So make sure to come back and see the bear once it is all completed... Better still, why not play a little game. Comment below on the colour you think the bear will be wearing... and then come back end of February to see if you were right Happy days to you all

15.01.2022 I'm delighted (and a little ashamed that its taken sooooo long) to say that I have finally completed the commission to make a memory bear from the Sienna College school blazer... I am sure Kate is going to love this surprise that her mum has organised for her... Wishing her all the very best for her final year -- so much tougher this year for so many of our VCE students Sending blessings to them all

13.01.2022 A break from the deck to help Mama Bear in her sewing room.... And its almost complete -- next week I'll post a video of this exciting new space where all future Bears From The Meadows will be born ...

13.01.2022 Hurry up Mumma Bear and give me a nose so that I can smell all the Spring flowers Watch this space and in a couple of days you'll see this commission completed (fingers crossed)

13.01.2022 A FunNy sTorY... I was looking after Sadie the other day as her parents were both working and she wanted to make an elephant... I had a sock elephant kit in my stash which I thought would be quite easy for her. She couldnt contain her excitement, but alas when we opened the box, she fell in love with the socks and didn't want to cut into them lol So out came the pencil and paper and I got stuck into the job of designing a simple elephant for her to make...... What do you think?? Not bad eh!!! And the best part Sadie got to keep the socks and wear them home See more

12.01.2022 Good evening friends, I'm excited to share with you the photos of this commission which I have only just finished, and guess what, it's 3 weeks ahead of time!!! Now that is a cause to celebrate I have been working really hard trying to get through all of my February orders so that I can devote some time to create a few special pieces for the EBearShow... That's right, it's been a few years since I last participated in this amazing online show... Mainly because of t...ime constraints, I find that I'm always chasing my tail and never have any stock to sell... But I'm burning the midnight oil this time to make sure I'll have something special to tempt you all with... I'll post more details about this upcoming show in the next few days... Take care my friends, Goodnight

10.01.2022 Hi everyone... have you all gone over to www.ebearshow.com to have a look at the preview bears and place your vote??? I have just jumped on the website for a peek -- so many gorgeous bears... Cant wait til the show opens on 19th February... And as it's no longer a secret-- I can show you all my preview bear... Her name is "Flower Faerie" inspired by the beautiful roses in my garden... ... Hope you love her as much as I do

09.01.2022 Hi everyone... I was clearing out some stuff at mum's house on the weekend and came across this naked black dolly... Looking through some of mums old albums, I spotted the same dolly in a very old photo (the baby is me and I'm nearing 60) So I'm guessing the doll could be up to 70 years old. It is in excellent condition (apart from the clothes having disappeared) and has a stamp on the back saying "Made In HongKong" In Argentina, where I was born, black dollies were considered to bring good luck and were popular possessions, referred to as "La Negrita". I wish I'd known this dolly was there, I would have asked mum some questions about her So now I have to ask if anybody out there has any information about these dollies, I would be most grateful... In the meantime, I'd better go do some sewing for her before she catches a cold

08.01.2022 Not many people guessed it, but little Cobweb is my newest kitty kat. Not one to celebrate Halloween or anything ghoulish, I just thought combining black, green and orange would make a cute little kitty kat and it would be fun to turn him into a Halloween Kitty... So I did work work work my butt off yesterday -- from the wee hours of the morning til late at night and I did manage to finish Cobweb. But it was too late and too dark to complete his photoshoot -- so that had to be done today. Cobweb has his own little pumpkin straight from the patch... For anyone interested I made it out of orange wool felt and used the smallest size pudding from my Yummy Yummy Puddings pattern (leaving off the icing bit!!!) Enjoy the rest of this "grand final" weekend everyone...

08.01.2022 And what a bleak cold day today... Just perfect weather to hole oneself up in the attic and sew... This bear should have been finished weeks ago... maybe this weekend!!! Keep an eye out

08.01.2022 Our SmartHomes journey and a little sneaky preview of my craft studio PS: Don't laugh it is very very stressful being in front of a camera

07.01.2022 A few weeks ago I started to show you the makings of a bear I had been commissioned to create... It was for a brand new little baby and was a gift from his aunty and grandma... Now it just happened that the baby's mumma was a follower of mine so I couldn't post too much information otherwise "the penny might have dropped" and her surprise ruined... I'm happy to say the bear was finished and gifted, so I can now show you the pics of the finished product... ... Whenever I'm asked to make a furry friend for a newborn or a young child I always document every step of the way with lots photos... Then I gather up all the photos, add a few words, send it to the printers and what I get back is a very professional bound storybook to hand over to the customer on completion... This way the child will have their own personalized book, which can be read to him/her, telling the story of how his furry companion was born... Just something to make it that little bit more special... Ps: This gorgeous bear was made using my Kringles pattern

04.01.2022 Introducing... Sir Lancelot & Sir Galahad.... My two new mischievous little kitty kats and partners in crime, ... who are looking forward to many cheeky adventures in their new home... I have been working on this special commission for a little while (life always seems to get in the way) and completed them a few days ago... but hadn't had a chance to take photos until now... Left on my workbench are just a few more orders and then I'll be able to get stuck into some Christmas offerings -- which is something I really really love to do -- Christmas, Angels, Teddies and Gollys are my most favourite things in the WHOLE world... Anyways peeps I hope you enjoy your weekend whatever you do and, for my friends in Victoria, the new found freedom that we finally have!!!!

03.01.2022 Good morning friends... just a quick little post to say hello and check to see you are all fine... With the kids back at school and a lot of us getting back to our work places -- life is starting to show signs of normality once again... My last post talked about the eBear Show... For those who aren't familiar with this, it is a wonderful online show which showcases the works of many talented artists from all over the world. The show will open for previews and voting thi...s coming Friday 5th February at 4.00pm (Sydney time)... Do yourself a favour and head on over to take a look, www.ebearshow.com -- Believe me you won't be disappointed!!! Sooooo many gorgeous creations to admire and later when the show opens, in 18 days, perhaps lay-by or buy outright... Life has been extremely busy for me the past 3 months or so (and I'm sure I'm not the only one)... but every spare minute I get I have been sew, sew, sewing for this show... Here is a little sneaky pic of my work so far... I hope to be able to add a couple more to this little collection in the upcoming weeks... For now friends, take care, stay safe and be happy...

02.01.2022 Hello to everyone on this beautiful Sunday morning... hope you're looking forward to a nice restful day before the week begins again... Last night I finished Merlin, a little custom kittykat and I have to say he is just ADORABLE !!! This morning we've had a photo shoot and now you are about to see a whole lot of photo spam (sorry couldn't decide which photo to show you, so you get to see them all) I think his mummy is gonna love him to bits... What do you think??? ... Don't forget if any of you would like your own custom kittykat -- just pm me. I'd be delighted to help out...

02.01.2022 You might recall three months ago I published a post asking for help to save my beautiful Mop Top Robinia which apparantly had "gone into shock" (or so the nursery where I bought it said) Despite all my attempts to save it, the pics below just go to show that sometimes you don't get that "happy ending" that you're striving for. My tree went from 1, to 2 and then sadly 3 I was still hopeful that perhaps next year in Spring we might get to see it shoot some new foli...age. But that last bit of hope was dashed away from me when I went back to the nursery to show them the photos of how it was faring so far... So today we said goodbye and pulled it out. We replaced it with a Standard/Weeping Crab Apple tree... The blossoms on this tree have always been my very favourites - reminding me of my nonna... So now I'm looking forward to admiring this new tree from my kitchen window... Though I have to be honest, the wait is going to be a very nervous one... Surely not, lightning does not strike twice in the same spot, does it??? Any tips you may throw my way on how not to KILL this one will be greatly appreciated Bear hugs to you and yours...

01.01.2022 It's looking like it's gonna be a PINK kinda Christmas at Magnolias-on-Thames and I love love LOVE that pink

01.01.2022 A big hello to everyone and praying that you are all keeping safe, healthy and busy... Thinking of you all whilst I am still unpacking boxes and missing you all even more... I've just come across this pretty little box whilst unpacking and couldn't remember what is was So I opened it and out popped dear little Milly... Milly was a custom order but she never did make it to her forever home I messaged the collector about 3 weeks ago before leaving Clyde but didn't get a reply... So here she is, looking for a home. If you would like to adopt her, please feel free to message me for details

01.01.2022 I need some answers pls... I was just having my brekky on the deck and whilst looking at my garden I saw something that has me horrified The pride and joy of my garden, my mop top robina, looks very unwell ... We planted this tree whilst the house was under construction. It lost all its leaves last Autumn, was dormant all Winter and then a month ago it burst back to life... it was a beautiful lush green, full of tiny baby leaves and I was so proud of it... But then this morning half the leaves are missing, the ones left are brown and curling. What possibly could have happened to cause this??? Does anyone know what can be done to save it... I've taken some photos and will take a quick trip to the nursery for help

01.01.2022 Where do the days go??? So many ideas inside my head -- such limited time to get them all out, BUT... Finally some show'n'tell for you my friends... My labour of LOVE of the past week or so... Please meet "Felix" and "Rascal" - the newest additions to the Bears From The Meadows family ... These two little puddycats have already found their forever homes, but I had so much fun bringing them to life that I've decided I just cant stop at two... If anybody would like me to create a custom puddycat, please message me with details of colour, name etc and I will make an extra special one with its very own individual personality just for you Take care my friends and enjoy this beautiful weekend
