15.01.2022 We would just like to thank all of Tasmania for coming to the Huon Valley, especially our little town, Geeveston today Monday! Today was our biggest trading day in 4 weeks! Since the bushfires swept through the region and closed the area down during our busy but short summer trading. So many people came into Geeveston to support our little community, we actually managed to run out of stock! We do apologies for those who requested our famous Seafood Chowder but missed out ...and our unexpected long waiting times. The best way to increase the wealth level, employment and a sense of pride in the Geeveston/Dover region is for the following attractions to be improved (incepted) and their needs to be addressed:... 1. IDA Bay Railway up & running on a regular basis with improved facilities (September 2019) 2. Improve the Hastings Cave Pools accessibility & add heated pools (September 2019) 3. Tahune AirWalk up & running again as soon as possible (June 2019) 4. Bikeway to Cockle Creek from Geeveston made a reality (October/November 2019) 5. Open up Melaleuca from Top of Hartz Mountain to Cockle Creek (September 2020) Note: Not like Three Capes at Port Arthur! It must be open to everyone with Cabins and camping grounds that are monitored and maintained so it is available to the everyday person.
