23.01.2022 Training with a friend or family member is a great way to keep yourself accountable and make sure you are staying on track with your health and fitness. We had Em join her sister Bec for a Sunday morning training session this week and they both did a great job! #beastmodept #strengthandconditioning #cbr

22.01.2022 Anti-rotation work is essential to a well-developed and effective core, capable of withstanding the rapid movements of high-impact sports. #beastmodept #strengthandconditioning #core #cbr

21.01.2022 Eloise has been training with Beast Mode PT for over four years and continues to make progress and learn every single session. A committed athlete who is always ready to take on a challenge, Eloise is a great example of how important it is to enjoy your training. A vital key to your success in health and fitness is enjoying yourself. 20.01.2022 Josh is a Raiders junior representative player who has recently begun working with Beast Mode PT to help guide his ACL rehabilitation. Having coached Josh during his time in the Raiders system, it is great to have him back in the gym putting his high work ethic to use. He treats his rehabilitation with an impressive commitment and consistency that has put him ahead of schedule on his recovery expectations. Josh is currently combining private coaching with our online programmi...ng delivery, which allows him to keep on track with his training and recovery. Consistency is essential during rehabilitation, and with the quality work Josh puts in he will be on the footy field again very soon. See more

20.01.2022 RDLs are an important eccentric hamstring movement that should be part of most athletic performance programs. Moving effectively through lift is key, loading the hamstrings while avoiding lower back load. Loads on RDLs don't need to be particularly high, with the movement itself usually providing a significant training stimulus at low weights.

19.01.2022 Taekwondo athlete Catherine joined Beast Mode PT three months ago and has made incredible progress with her movement and strength. Combining in-person coaching with personal programming, Catherine currently trains four times each week and the results are fantastic. Comfortable and confident in all major movement patterns, Catherine will only continue to improve from here.... #beastmode #beastmodept #deadlift #strengthandconditioning #lifting

17.01.2022 Special shout out to one of Beast Mode's finest, ACT Para athlete Nick. He's been knocking out personal bests each week across almost every metric you can measure. Always ready to do the hard work in the gym and continuing to improve his nutrition every week, I'm excited to see where we can take Nick over the next year. Good on ya, Nick!

15.01.2022 Rugby and Water Polo player Zac with a set of 3 Undergrip Pull Ups with 10kg this morning (with his favourite tunes in the background)

14.01.2022 One of the most important aspects of any field or court-based sport is acceleration over short distances. There are lots of progressions, regressions, rest and ...change of direction variables that come into improving acceleration, but at its core it comes down to a simple principle: Move fast. Sprinting needs to be included in almost all athletic programs, amateur, semi-pro, or professional. #sprint #performancetraining #strengthandconditioning #rugby

14.01.2022 Last week we welcomed Zac to Beast Mode PT. Zac is a high level water polo player currently playing for ACT and also training for college Rugby Union. Keen to learn and with a high work ethic, Zac has made a great start to his training so far! #beastmode #beastmodept #strengthandconditioning #waterpolo

09.01.2022 Coaching at Beast Mode PT is about movement first. Taking the time to develop safe and efficient movement patterns is an investment in your time and effort that will pay off for the rest of your life. Rushing into heavy weights is not something that is accepted at Beast Mode PT. One of our most prominent standards is the importance of getting as much quality as possible from every single repetition. Whether you are a complete beginner or a world champion athlete, the rep itse...lf is a vital key to unlocking the potential of your training program. Take the time to learn, take the time to adjust, and take the time to step back and regress when needed. Your performance, health, mobility and results will be greatly improved every session, every day, and every program.

08.01.2022 Young water polo and rugby player Zac has been hard at work developing his movement skills and general strength over the past month in preparation for the rugby season in three weeks and an Australian Water Polo training camp in October. Commitment to your training is one of the most important keys to athletic development, and Zac has shown a keen desire to learn and a high work ethic this month, which will put him in an excellent position to have a great season. #strength #strengthandconditioning #beastmodept #cbr #training #athleticdevelopment #waterpolo

08.01.2022 Massive congratulations to our Canberra Raiders Under-20s, CRRL premiers! It's been a strange year and the players and staff have done an incredible job to get a result like this. It's been amazing to be involved with such a great group and I am excited to see how these players progress in the future. Congratulations, boys!!

07.01.2022 Name a more iconic duo. #assaultbike #beastmodept

07.01.2022 Ab Rollouts are a great anti-extension core movement that is often overlooked because even experienced athletes sometimes find it difficult to progress from kne...es to feet. A simple bridge between the two is to increase knee height until the exercise is challenging again, and continue adding height until you have progressed to the point of doing Ab Rollouts from your feet. Simple, but an effective and often overlooked progression to a great exercise.

07.01.2022 Congratulations to long-time Beast Mode PT member Linda, who at 69 years of age performed her first 100kg Trap Bar Deadlift this morning!

06.01.2022 Upper body pulling work is vital to developing effective strength and control through almost all major movement patterns, including pushing movements like bench press and overhead press. Make sure you are including plenty of pulling work in your training!

06.01.2022 95kg for reps! Barbell Hip Thrusts are a great movement for developing strength through the entire lower body, with the glutes working particularly hard. This is a very strong movement and once you are proficient it should be loaded heavily for whatever rep range you are using to achieve the desired training effect.

04.01.2022 Congratulations to Raider #367, Harley Smith-Shields! Be sure to tune in to Harley's debut at 7.35pm this Saturday against the Rabbitohs. I had the pleasure of working with Harley as S&C Coach for the 2018 SG Ball season, and have seen the incredible effort and commitment he has put into his career and his rugby league development.... This is a hugely deserved debut and you'll have all of Canberra behind you, Harley! Good luck!

04.01.2022 Banded RDLs are a great movement for loading the posterior chain (especially hamstrings) when working with an upper body injury. 3-4 sets of 10 reps completed with quality and intensity will reinforce movement mechanics and eccentically load the hamstrings. There is always a way to safely load your movements, even when injured.... #beastmodept #strengthandconditioning #rehab #cbr

03.01.2022 TKD athlete Catherine has been improving her upper body strength rapidly over the past few months, taking undergrip pull ups from a shaky 3 reps to a comfortable 3 sets of 6 full-range reps. Training doesn't require impressive complexity, just impressive quality.

01.01.2022 Injuries aren't a reason to stop your training. They can be frustrating and they can restrict some movements, but they provide an excellent opportunity to explore movement variations and methods that are new to you. Even when restricted by a wrist injury there is still plenty of work to be done!... #beastmode #beastmodept #rehab #strengthandconditioning #strength #cbr

01.01.2022 We're back! It's been a strange three months but today we stepped back on the gym floor and it felt amazing. We're ready to welcome back all our clients and athletes, as well as anyone who needs some help with their athletic development as we head back into normal life!

01.01.2022 Congratulations to Raiders #369, Matt Timoko! Another member of the 2018 SG Ball Raiders squad, it is a well-deserved debut for Matt, after years of hard work and dedication. Good luck, mate!
