23.01.2022 Ryuichi Sakamoto's classic 1981 album "Left Handed Dream" has been re-issued by the fantastic We Want Sounds label in it's rare original Japanese edition "Hidari Ude No Yume". Recorded at the Alpha A studio in Tokyo, featuring contributions from fellow Yellow Magic Orchestra members Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi, as well as American guitarist Adrian Belew (King Crimson, Talking Heads, David Bowie) and producer Robin Scott ("M"). Together, they created a fascinating mix of pop, ambient and electronic music with elements of avant-garde and traditional Japanese music. Newly remastered from the original tapes by renowned engineer Bernie Grundman and available as a standard single-LP re-issue ($50) or 2xLP Special Edition with bonus instrumental mixes ($70).

Long-time favourites of the shop, we're always happy to see an essential BTS record back in the racks.

07.01.2022 We just received copies of the new 2nd pressing of PARTY DOZEN's menacing 2020 sophomore album "Pray For Party Dozen". This one pressed on white vinyl, with alternate coloured artwork. Only 200 copies made via Zenith Records in Melbourne. Plus you get a fold-out poster of Jono to go alongside your Kirsty poster from the first press! (P.s. - we have 1 copy left of the 180-gram black vinyl first edition still in-stock. Once it's gone, it's gone for good!)

Volumes 1-3 came out between 1983 and 1986 and unearthed artists like Fast Cars, Spy V. Spy, Happy Hate Me Nots and The Johnny's. Volume 4 catches up on nearly 4 decades of Sydney music from bands of the same era, featuring tracks from Died Pretty, The Aints, Hoodoo Gurus & plenty more. ... The Smith Street Band - Unplugged In Wombat State Forest $32 New 10-track career-spanning unplugged live performance, recorded off-the-grid at their own Bush House Studios in regional Victoria. Zeal & Ardor - Wake Of A Nation $30 2020 6-track E.P. from Swiss avant-garde metal outfit. Self-released and pressed on limited edition clear 12" vinyl. Linda Smith - Till Another Time $40 (LP) / $25 (CD) Captured Tracks retrospective from the NYC & Baltimore-based songwriter. Features 12 home recordings from 1988-1996, previously only available on small run 7" and cassettes. Charmingly lo-fi bedroom pop for fans of The Raincoats, C86-era material and early Slumberland / K Records releases.
