19.01.2022 Here is our problem. We think we are objective. We think we see reality. And we stress, we are anxious, we suffer psychological pain because we believe the illusions created by our minds. See things as they really are. Know you are free.
16.01.2022 We stress. We lose sleep. We muddle through while feeling lost, depressed, and alone. And yet when we look at our misery we see that the source lies not in things outside us but in the thoughts that our brain naturally produces.By refusing to show interest in the thoughts that are poison to our system we take them off life support. Please contact me if you would like to discuss further how you too can beat stress, sleep well, and enjoy life.
15.01.2022 A powerful message. Love is our nature.
14.01.2022 Surrender to all that you truly are. You are free.
14.01.2022 So much of our anxiety and stress comes from living in our imagination, seeing things as we imagine them to be, as we imagine they were, or as we imagine they should be. We live either in the memory of an imagined time we call 'past' or in the projection of memory into an imagined time we call 'future'. Neither past nor future exist. Seeing things as they are, right here and right now, without the imagined past or imagined future, allows us to see the next thing to be done and illuminates the way forward. "It is all very simple ....."
13.01.2022 If you can't get these luxuries don't stress. There is a better way to live.
11.01.2022 Some tips for sleeping better. 1. Stick to a schedule, and don't sleep late on weekends. If you sleep late on Saturday and Sunday morning, you'll get Sunday night insomnia. Instead, go to bed and get up at about the same time every day. You don't need to rely on an alarm clock to wake up when you get enough sleep. 2. Don't eat or drink a lot before bedtime. Eat a light dinner about 2 hours before sleeping. If you drink too much liquid before sleeping, you'll wake up repeatedl...Continue reading
11.01.2022 Be kind. When you are kind to someone you are being kind to yourself.
10.01.2022 Someone looks at you, innocently, and the thought comes, "What was he looking at? Do I have a booger hanging out of my nose? Is my zip open?" Most of the time we move on to another, unrelated thought and that's the end of the matter. However, do you ever find yourself giving attention to that troublesome thought? Do you give it oxygen by focusing on it? Do you ever find yourself thinking, "I'm not good enough; tall enough; short enough; fat enough; thin enough; rich enough; s...mart enough; educated enough; strong enough... or any variation of these? Sri Ramana Maharshi said, "If you go the way of your thoughts you will end up in an endless maze". Rather than following those thoughts, inquire into the origin of the I-thought. "Who is this 'I' that I say I am?" Understand and be free. Please ask if you would like more information. May you have days of great peace. See more
04.01.2022 Who is this I that I say I am? You know, don't you, that if you have a scan of your body, the whole body including your brain, you will not find an 'I' there anywhere. So when we say I this and I that, I am this or I am that, who or what is that 'I'? We say "I am this body" or "I am the mind". Are we body or mind or body and mind? If you lose a limb or an organ to disease or accident are you less here? Is there less 'I' present? Of course not. My sense of 'I', of being prese...nt, is not diminished when the body is diminished. Am I the mind? Surely not, for when I am in deep sleep I am not diminished, even though I am not aware of being here, of being present. I'm not aware of anything. But instantly upon awakening I know without any doubt that I am; here I am. And there is an inner knowing that I was here all the time, even in the unconsciousness of deep sleep. And that same scan will not find a mind either. Mind doesn't exist apart from thoughts. So who am I? Earnestly desire to know, Who am I? Understand, then you are free. Then the psychological suffering ends. See more
03.01.2022 The Beatles sang, All you need is love, love Love is all you need... And if it is, then that means love for our politicians and political leaders, while they are behaving well and even while they are behaving badly; love for our police officers, while they are behaving well and even while they are behaving badly; love for our community neighbours, while they are behaving well and even while they are behaving badly. And that love is only possible when we understand that each person is not an independent, self-sustaining entity but a manifestation of the One, the singular Consciousness, the Self-shining Presence Awareness. That being so, we may also understand that what we call "I" - "I am this or that" - the ego-I, is not a thing - no thing - but simply a mental concept, a bunch of thoughts centred on the "I" thought, and as such has nothing to gain and nothing to lose in loving everyone. This understanding allows us to see the evil in the world, the injustice, the greed and selfishness, the corruption, the hate and violence, as it is, as a manifestation of wrong thinking and ignorance; it allows us, compels us even, to weep with those who weep, to grieve with the bereaved, to feel something of the anguish, pain and desolation of those who suffer at the hands of injustice and hate, and yet not be drawn into the ego-trap of anger, rage, hate and violent thoughts against the perpetrators of evil. Rather, work with compassion to comfort those who suffer and relieve their suffering where possible; strive for peace by being a man or woman of peace. Hate cannot overcome hate. Only compassion and peace can do that. Darkness cannot overcome darkness.Only the light of kindness and compassion can do that. Evil cannot overcome evil. Only that which is good, noble, and loving can do that. Love is all we need.
02.01.2022 Ah yes. Being caring and compassionate is natural and good. Stressing over the sorrows of the world doesn't help. Be like the sun
02.01.2022 Please don't welcome every thought or emotion.
