11.01.2022 On Saturday the Kingies Senior Men travelled to Rochedale for the Grand Final qualifier against St Brendans. As we approach the shed to get ready all the boys looked very focused and ready to give the finals a good crack. The boys started of great and stuck to our game plan early by completing our sets, as the game got going we started to get on top on our opponents, but a couple of things didn’t go to plan and before we knew it they had scored 3 quick try’s, with 5mins to g...o in the half we regrouped the lads with nice ball movement George Hopkins scored in the corner. Making it 16-4 at halftime. At halftime the lads all knew we just had to hold the ball. When the second half kicked off we started well will great patience we started winning the battle up the middle which aloud our outside men score a couple more try’s making the score with 5minutes to go 14-14. After a couple of incomplete sets we gave them some hope which they took and scored with 1minute to go making it 20-14. Our lads tried and fought hard right to the end on the game. See more

02.01.2022 The Kingfishers Women’s team played a tough match against the Aspley Devils at home yesterday. The ladies fought hard, with the final score not being a true reflection of the efforts shown by the home team. The Kingfishers worked together to hold their line as Aspley dominated the possession and field position for the beginning of the first half. Against a tiring defence, Aspley scored two tries before Beaudesert hit back with a try to five-eighth Sammy Cahill (named player ...of the match). Aspley then scored a late try to go into the break 16-4. Undeterred, the women started the second half strong, matching Aspley play for play, and with some strong runs and well placed kicks, the Kingfishers were able to hold field position for most of the second half. Unfortunately this was not converted into points with the final score being 26-4 to Aspley. The women’s team have one more home game left in the regular season. This is a must win in order to secure their place and head into the finals. Come down this Saturday and show some support for the ladies.

02.01.2022 Congratulations to Ethan Haack for getting his one club player framed jersey presented this season. It’s a great personal achievement and acknowledgment from the Club for the years of service that Ethan has committed to the Kingfishers from the U7s-17s age groups. It was this commitment and love of the game that allowed him to gain his first rep jersey in 2019 gaining selection in the the much sort after u16 Gold Coast Vikings team. Over the years his service to the Kingfishers not only includes playing but also extends to him volunteering his time to help out younger ages. Congratulations Ethan the time that you’ve put into the club is much appreciated and this award is very well deserved.
