25.01.2022 Spring has sprung Archies are the perfect choice for those warmer days when you want to head to the beach without sacrificing on support!

25.01.2022 What are we doing to protect against Covid 19? The health and safety of our clients and staff is of utmost importance to us. The risk of transmission of Coronavirus at a physiotherapy clinic is already very low as patients who attend our clinic are in pain, and are not sick. This risk is much lower than the vast majority of day-to-day activities such as food shopping, going to work or school, or restaurants.... To minimise this risk even further, Beaumaris Physiotherapy is taking the following steps: If you are at all unwell or have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with Covid-19 please call us to reschedule your appointment. Our staff have all completed the Department of Health's Covid-19 infection control training. We are continuing with current clinical staff hand hygiene processes of washing or sanitising hands before and after every patient. We are no longer be using bed linen so that we can wipe the vinyl bed with disinfectant between every patient. We have hand sanitiser available for your use on arrival and prior to departure. We are cleaning common areas multiple times a day with alcohol based cleaner. If you prefer to wait for your appointment in your car, we can do that. If you would prefer to pay over the phone using your card before your appointment, we can email you your receipt to allow for online claiming from health insurance companies. You can book your appointments online or over the phone if you prefer Please help us by not bringing any extra people into the practice, practising your own hand hygiene and cancelling your appointment if you are unwell. If you are unsure whether you should attend your appointment, please contact the clinic and our reception team will be able to advise you. No staff will be attending work if they are unwell.

24.01.2022 The Glute Wall hold! One of our favourite exercises for glute activation! Simply stand on one leg with opposite knee pressing into the wall. Hold for 30 seconds. Perform 5 on both sides for up to 45 seconds each. Be sure not to lean into the wall with your torso or thigh!

24.01.2022 An article looking at the age old question: Does running give your knees arthritis?

23.01.2022 Next up in our Glute activation series is... the Crab Walk 1 Place a glute loop around your knees or feet. 2 Keep your legs shoulder width apart and sink into a half squat. ... 3 Walk to the right for 10 steps, then change direction and repeat stepping to the left. This gets spicy quick! See more

20.01.2022 Hi everyone, There is so much information (and disinformation) out there on COVID-19 at the moment, it's impossible to keep up to date with it. We have made policies at the clinic and sometimes within 3 days they are obsolete and we need to make a new one!...Continue reading

20.01.2022 Were seeing a lot of tendon pain with everyone returning to full training post COVID. The most common cause of tendinopathy is repetitive action. You may develop a tendinopathy if you frequently make the same motion while playing sports or working. The risk increases if you perform the motion incorrectly. How do we prevent it... Tendons need recovery to allow adaptation, and do not want to be loaded heavy every day. Therapeutic loading should be of high magnitude and only performed every other or third day!

20.01.2022 Staring at the computer for hours on end? Neck and shoulders feeling stiff? Try this simple stretch to help relieve tension. Hold for 30 secs and repeat 3 times on each side

14.01.2022 Clam Shells are one of our go to exercises in the early stages of Glute rehab!! 1Lie on your side, with legs stacked and knees bent at a 45-degree angle. 2Be sure that your hipbones are stacked on top of one another, as there is a tendency for the top hip to rock backward. 3Keeping your feet touching, raise your upper knee as high as you can without shifting your hips or pelvis. Dont move your lower leg off the floor.... 4Pause, and then return your upper leg to the starting position on the ground. Do 10-15 reps on each side! See more

These were incorrectly reported in multiple places including Wednesday's paper. They have since been corrected online. We are doing everything possible at our end to maintain a safe environment for you, undertaking strict hygiene policies and turning away anyone who is sick or slightly unwell or who have travelled recently. If you'd like a more comprehensive list of all the hygiene measures we are taking, please give us a call and we'd be happy to explain them to you.
