13.01.2022 Watch why MotoAid has partnered with Federation University Australia to develop a mobile app to keep Timor-Leste’s midwives and their motorbikes on the road. Timor-Leste has an infant mortality rate of 30 per 1000 live births (compared to 3.2 in Australia). In rural areas of Timor-Leste, expectant mothers rely on midwives on motorbikes. Keeping midwives and their motorbikes safe on the road is key to getting those numbers down. Beaumaris Rotary Club has chosen to support MotoAid’s work to train Timor-Leste’s midwives in safe riding and basic motorbike care.
