25.01.2022 Does your organisation or team have a high degree of trust? Some interesting stats I came across a couple of weeks ago. People at high-trust companies experience 74% less stress.... In a 2017 scaled US study, researchers found that compared with people at low-trust companies, people at high-trust companies reported: 74% less stress 50% higher productivity 106% more energy at work 13% fewer sick days 76% more engagement 29% more satisfaction in their lives 40% less burnout Can you afford not to have a culture of trust? What is it actually costing you?!?! #trust #culture #performance #profits #leaders #highperformanceteams #leadership

22.01.2022 1 week until the much anticipated and very exciting virtual round table concept. Always great to partner with the team at Allegis Group and many thanks to Steve Tolen for the opportunity. Looking forward to hearing from Julian R Su Duffey Eva Brookes and the discussion, perspectives and insights into mindset, leadership, culture and performance.... I love this concept and believe it’s a great platform to connect, learn, discuss whilst in a virtual and somewhat less informal and more relaxed setting(there will be wine involved ) Let me know if this is something you may be interested in the future, what topics you would like to see covered and discussed and what panel members would you want to hear from? I’d also love to facilitate something similar and tie it into a mental health cause, as Allegis have done with this event. Love to hear your thoughts below #webinars #speakers #engagement #leadership #culture #mindset #resilience #teams #highperformanceteams
21.01.2022 An exciting 24 hours coming up with the AFL and NRL grand finals taking place... Here's one for you. You find your team down by 5 goals after the first quarter...... Or down by 3 tries after 20 minutes. What do you do? Do you give up and turn off the TV having lost faith and hope? Or do you spur them on and #encourage them from the comfort of your lounge in the hope they will have #determination, #perseverance and the #belief that they will claw their way back into the game and come out on top? It's not unlike business really... Or the scenarios that #leaders may find themselves in. In 2020 many leaders and organisations have their backs against the well, fighting for survival... This year has been "brutal". Leaders may find themselves exhausted, lonely and anxious for the future. The great leaders, even if fighting for survival, will view 2020 as quarter time, or the first 20 minutes of the game. Their vision is much bigger than this year. They talk with #hope, #conviction and #excitement for a future. They #engage, #motivate and #inspire their team... Not for 2020, but for the brighter future. Leaders, hopefully you wouldn't give in watching your footy team if down early, and that's the approach, attitude and mindset you need for your team and organisation...
17.01.2022 You're going to get it wrong. That's okay, be decisive, be clear, and back yourself. Unfortunately during this crisis, as a leader, you are going to be responsible for making number of decisions. ... In this current climate, you're going to have to make the decisions quite quickly, and you're gonna have to be really decisive. You're got to be willing and able to adapt. You will get some of these decisions wrong unfortunately. Now obviously those ones that are bigger and have a bigger impact on your organization or your team have to have more consideration and greater time for more discussion. But at the end of the day, you're gonna have to make a lot of decisions that when you look back, not making a decision, is still making a decision. Don't let lack of belief, confidence or self doubt stop you from making decisions. That is dangerous. Be courageous. Be calculated. You aren't expected to navigate this by yourself. Talk to colleagues, ask your team members, maybe get an external voice. But do not fail to make decisions in fear of getting them wrong. #leaders #leadership #courage #clarity #teams #confidence #culture
17.01.2022 A great little insight into an Emotional Intelligence report. The feedback can be invaluable. This was a big 'Aha' moment for a client.... Setting professional AND personal goals are crucial. Get clarity on where you're going, what you want and why you want that. Your goals should motivate and excite you. An emotional intelligence assessment as a leader can be highly beneficial for Enhanced Employer/Employee Relations Improved Performance/Productivity Greater Motivation and Satisfaction Improved Confidence and Self Efficacy Enhanced Leadership, Influence and Team Performance Especially during times of adversity and uncertainty, the great leaders are highly emotional intelligent to not only get the best out of themselves, but their team members in order to keep everyone engaged and motivated. If you've ever considered doing one but haven't, now is the time to get it done. I can't recommend it highly enough! #leaders #leadership #leadershipcoach #emotionalintelligence #teams #results #highperformanceteams #engage #motivate #inspire #sports #rugby
16.01.2022 "Great companies are built by great leaders. (That's why the ability to identify and attract talented people is almost as critical as the ability to develop talented people. The evaluation spends almost no time assessing a manager's knowledge, skill, and experience. All but one question focuses on soft skills: communication, feedback, coaching, teamwork, respect, and consideration." No surprise in the 2 above paragraphs.... 1. Great leaders build great companies. 2. Recruit/attract the right people- get the right people on the bus. 3. Soft skills are VERY important in this day and age. Promote people based on leadership skills or potential leadership development, not other factors. Have they got it right? What have they missed? #leaders #leadership #teams #highperformanceteams #culture #performances #results
15.01.2022 Brad Thorn: Having a Vision & making the tough decisions. I’ve had a couple of hectic weeks attending business personal developments programs in order to upskill myself further. I had a great 4 days up at Kingscliff attending my first Professional Speakers Australia conference, where I learned an unbelievable amount whilst connecting, networking and promoting my book to be released later this year. After a big 4 days, we finally finished up on Monday afternoon....Continue reading
12.01.2022 I received this email last month. It ties in exactly with my purpose and is why I love doing what I do. Making real change and getting results, with individuals and teams.... 08.01.2022 Great to be on the panel with Julian R Eva Brookes Su Duffey discussing Leadership, mindset and High Performance teams. Thanks to Steve Tolen & the Allegis Group team in APAC for organising. One of the biggest recurring themes was the importance of humility, vulnerability & being human as a leader, especially during these times...... It was great that it coincided with RU OK? day, and so topical, it’s a reminder that we shouldn’t be just asking that question this week. We need to be asking it regularly, during these times. Leaders need to invest time in listening, observing and getting a feel for how their teams are going... For me it was very beneficial to be around great people that allowed me to learn, grow and laugh! There’s no medal for trying to get through these times by yourself. Leverage and lean off your networks. Thank you to all of those that were involved, I hope you enjoyed and find it as beneficial as I did... #leaders #leadership #humans #connection #teams #humility #vulnerability #empathy

07.01.2022 To build great teams, vulnerability and authenticity are key to establishing trust as a foundation. 06.01.2022 There’s no silver bullet A great insight from the All Black’s Gilbert Enoka. Too often, people and leaders, believe there is a magic potion, wand or silver bullet that will lead them to success without the need to do the hard work!... #leaders #leadership #hardwork #dedication #commitment #success #results
04.01.2022 I got sent this earlier this week and as soon as I started watching it the blood was pumping and the goosebumps were back. So excited for finals footy. The Reds are back in the GF and the mighty Roos have a big weekend ahead also!... Bring it on!!! #rugby #rugbyunion #champions #professionalrugby #grassrootsrugby
01.01.2022 Leading is simple not easy... I see and hear a lot of leaders looking for the magic pill, the shortcut, secret or key to leadership. Something they believe will significantly enhance their leadership skills over night and make leading easy.... I’ve got some bad news... It doesn’t exist. Being a great leader is hard work. It takes patience, self management, commitment, sacrifice, dedication, determination, resilience and many other components that aren’t easy. It’s actually harder than individual success or achievement, because you are relying on factors out of your control (but not out of your influence). If you want to be a great leader, get clarity and look in the mirror. You can’t control, but you can influence... There’s no easy route to the top. And the same goes for business. #leader #leading #leadership #commitment #dedication #teams #culture #highperformanceteams
