17.01.2022 Hey Guys I know in these uncertain times people can feel like they want to support small business but cant because their own finances are stretched, theyre s...tuck in isolation either mandated or self imposed, or simply because they just dont know where to start. So heres a few things you can do to help those struggling with current situation that wont cost you a single cent. 1. Like and share any posts on social media from businesses you want to succeed, you never know how far reaching a post can get and who will see it. At the very least it increases the visibility of the business, even if it is just in some small way. 2. Send positive messages to your favourite small business. I think we all to often forget these are usually run by people who are just trying to provide for themselves and their family and in the face of this crisis they are probably freaking out a little. Remember, never underestimate how much a kind word can mean to someone, sometimes it can feel like a hand reaching in to save you from drowning. 3. Spread the business through word of mouth. Especially in Adelaide (and Im sure other cities around the world) businesses tend to live and die by how much people talk about them. Even just something as simple as "oh man, that place has amazing coffee" or "that store has awesome customer service". All of these may not seem huge to you, and honestly theyre not... When done individually, but if theyre practiced by enough people youd be surprised how far they can carry a business. And once this is all over those left standing will need as much support as they can get to help them through the long road to recovery, so why not start now? I appreciate that everyone has their own problems, and Im sure there are small things everyone can do to help them as well, and I would urge you to do so. The only out is through, and the only way through is together

13.01.2022 Well what a surreal day. I feel like I am walking in an alternate universe. It takes the worst times in your life to see the best of humanity. My heart just bursts with love for those that are my clients (friends)(other family). I have had so much love and appreciation shown to me today that I truly know why I do what I do. I have had clients offer me money to get through (I didnt take it) but boy does my heart swell with love when people offer me significant amounts of mone...y when they have their own grandchildren and children to worry about. I have had clients come and stock up on their products just to put money in my till and just the simple offer of a coffee meant the world to me. My amazing landlord who has told me he is here for me and wants to see me stay here, he is truly an earth angel (he is so humble). My family who I know have got my back. The beautiful people who I work with in this street. I pray we will all be back soon. No matter how badly off you think you are spare a thought for Adelaides homeless , of which we have too many. What will happen to them when we all go into lockdown. No matter how bad it feels, life is good. Stay safe and Ill see you all on the flip side. 10.01.2022 Are cheap cosmetic procedures really good value for money? I am personally seeing people who have had cheap treatments, with expensive problems. It can not... only look terrible, cost money to fix, but it is an extremely stressful, anxious time. It makes me wonder how some places can advertise for filler when I know it is less than cost price? Why would someone do this? The injector doesnt have much experience and wants to build a client base? Are these products legitimate or purchased on the internet from China? Is it diluted? While this might seem absurd, believe me it happens. There are unqualified people out there risking peoples health. Have you asked to see the qualifications of your injector and asked what training the person has done? Have they had any complications? How much experience do they really have? Where do they purchase their products from? Please do your research. Trust your person and ask these questions. 06.01.2022 What is a Beauty Therapist and a Dermal Clinician? Martin Pakula and the Andrews Government need to clearly understand the differences in the aesthetic and beau...ty industries. There seems to be a lack of understanding regarding what qualification and education of those who work in aesthetic/beauty clinics and salons and I applaud Matt Bach for taking the initiative to actually understand the industry. The word beauty parlour and beautician has been thrown around by the government, without truely understanding the education and training undertaken in the industry. Beauticians with a formal qualification of Certificate 3, have formal training only in nails, waxing, tanning and retail. Beauty Therapists hold a Diploma of Beauty Therapy and are formally trained in performing various facials and massage and study anatomy & physiology and basic cosmetic chemistry. They are taught infection control, as well as sanitisation and disinfection protocols and procedures. They are trained how to utilise an autoclave, since they come into contact with bodily fluids. Many beauty therapists have committed themselves to extensive post-graduate training and education, while others continue with formal education in dermal therapies. Dermal Therapists hold an Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science which is an undergraduate dermal therapy course. The curriculum covers the knowledge and skills required to perform a range of dermal therapy procedures within a cosmetic medical context. Dermal Clinicians have engaged in further studies at a university level and achieved a Degree qualification such as the Bachelor of Health Science (Dermal Therapies). Dermal Clinicians have extensive training in skin anatomy & physiology, skin conditions, cosmetic chemistry and are trained to analyse and treat skin through a variety of advanced techniques. Working alongside doctors specialising in cosmetic surgical and non-surgical treatments, they have advanced training in laser, IPL, skin peels, photo rejuvenation, cosmetic tattooing, cosmetic chemistry and micro needling. So next time you call a beauty therapist or dermal clinician a beautician, please understand that can be upsetting and actually feel like youre insulting our dedication to education.
