After delivery, your estrogen level will fall, and the levels of two hormones, prolactin and oxytocin, will rise. These two hormones have very different impacts on your body, and each can interfere with your sex drive. The combination of increased prolactin and oxytocin may make you feel great pleasure from breastfeeding. Your emotional and physical intimacy needs may be met by breastfeeding your little one, so your sex drive may decrease. You may not feel the need or desire to seek affection from your partner. Super common and note all your needs for touch are all touched out after 10 hours plus of contact with baby... Now the opposite can happen too. The increased hormones and sensual touching can increase your sexual desire. The breasts are an erogenous zone. You may find that you’re more easily aroused thanks to the surging hormones and sensations in your body. If you think breastfeeding is affecting your sex drive, it’s important to know this is normal. 01.01.2022 @amee.mccue This quote REALLY spoke to me when I saw it. I had an extremely difficult pregnancy with Liam. I was so sick for the first 6 months...I felt li...ke I was floating from day to day, just trying to hang on and hope that someday I would feel normal again. It was extremely difficult for me. Of course, it was ALL worth it, because it gave me my boy who is the greatest gift! . But, now that we are thinking about our next child, I find myself dreading the idea of being pregnant again...and sometimes I feel guilty for that. I feel like I should be excited...and I am. I am excited for my child, just not for the 9 months before that. I have to remind myself that my lack of enthusiasm has nothing to do with me not wanting my child. In fact, it is quite the opposite. I am so excited to have another baby that I am willing to go through 9 months of extreme difficulty to get there! . It can be easy to let mum guilt take over, sometimes, and make you feel like you aren’t a good mum...for me, I felt like I wasn’t a good mum since I wasn’t jumping for joy at the idea of being pregnant. But, I am jumping for joy at the idea of having another child...it is just the pregnancy part that isn’t my favorite. And that is OK! Pregnancy is hard. (unless you are one of those few who love pregnancy! If so, I commend you) But, I realize that nothing truly amazing comes without some struggles. And, I am willing to face all off that difficulty and struggle for my child. So, if you don’t love pregnancy, don’t feel guilty! You love your child, and that is what matters! .
