25.01.2022 In a long forgotten time, soup was served in Blue Pottery Ramekins, thrown by hand, glazed and fired onsite, right here at Bridgetown Pottery Restaurant. "Soup...er Dooper Wednesday" gives you the chance to order two of our heart warmers to take home with crusty warm bread and black garlic butter. Orders by 5 pm. Text 0427611088. Life is a Minnestrone or Corn and Leek Chowder. Sadly you can't enjoy 24/7s blue ramekins but I guarantee the taste sensation will still be the same #SouperDooperWednesday #MillsonWheels #staffiesatBridgetownPottery See more

16.01.2022 BRIDGETOWN VETERAN REMEMBERS Vernon Daulby, 93, is one of the last remaining veterans in Bridgetown and took to his driveway this morning with his wife Beth Da...ulby to mark the occasion. Mr Daulby served in the navy during World War II. "What happened in Borneo was shocking and I'll never forget it," he said. "It's a terrible thing that happened but it's a wonderful thing that Anzac Day is still going."

06.01.2022 Just yearning for normal times again

05.01.2022 so back in 1998 Wayne Baze Lee came flying down to my cottage to tell me that Michael " Gods something or other" was on the phone and needed to speak to me urgently. "Where's he from?" I asked, slightly miffed that my afternoon was being interupted again. "Melbourne I think " "Holy Tuledo - do you mean Michael Gudinski?" The teenage Baze had no idea why I was in such a state - the man was Australian Music royalty. 1998 was the year of Mushroom Records 25th anniversary and a... massive concert was being planned featuring all of their Number 1 Record performers on one stage in November. Blues at Bridgetown had already contracted Chain to reform for, what was to be, the last festival that Sheila Howat and I would direct. Matt Taylor had some connection to Bridgetown as he had lived at the Brotherhood in Balingup in the 70's and at least one of his children had been born in the Bridgetown hospital so he was instrumental in getting the Chain reformation in place. Gudinski was ringing me to negotiate how he could make sure that Chain were on the bill of the Melbourne concert which clashed with the Saturday night of Blues at Bridgetown - "Black and Blue" was Mushroom Records first No 1 hit and , according to Gudinski, the label's only Blues no 1 hit. The position that we came to was that Chain would perform in Bridgetown on Friday night, Mushroom would fly them to Melbourne to perform on Saturday and then fly them back to Perth to perform at the winddown on Sunday night in Bridgetown. Gudinski was a passionate negotiator - it all went according to plan - heady days indeed. Michael gifted Sheila and I a 10 cd boxed set of the Mushroom records collection to thank us for assisting him to ensure that Chain was on the bill. Vale Michael Gudinski - the Godfather of the modern Australian music industry. See more
