24.01.2022 WE ARE BACK OPEN IN HIGHGATE NEXT MONDAY 23/11 After this morning's press conference Steven Marshall has announced restrictions easing, and gyms can reopen from 12.01am Sunday. 24.01.2022 Absolutely LOVE this saying. And in today’s society where a quick fix & immediate results are promoted it is so important to get this message across. ANY PERSON you see who looks fit & healthy, did not obtain those results or that physique in 12 weeks or 6 months. It has taken them years of plodding along with the foundations. ... Over time those foundation steps build up & change the person. If you want to get toned it’s going to take years. Start lifting weights and do it every week. And make sure you’re consuming enough protein too. You won’t build your ‘dream body’ in a few months. Start with a strong foundation & keep at it. Patience. Consistency.

19.01.2022 Tonight we have Stretch & Flex with Yoga Begins-with Vani / Vani Shukla We have voted to just lie, relax & breathe....after the week that was last week Just kidding, we will do some stretches too ... This class is included in the regular class membership which is FANTASTIC value. Stretching is important as we age, not just for our muscles & bodies, but even more so for our mind. I used to think yoga was a waste of time Now I hate to miss it. See you on the mat

18.01.2022 3 TIPS TO BE ORGANISED Organisation is the KEY to success - TRUST ME! Here are 3 things you can do to help you get organised:... Plan your week ahead Block out the time for your workouts , plan when you will go grocery shopping, think about what you will eat for dinner each night. You might need to set aside an hour on Sunday to do this, but it will make your week much easier. Cut up your meat, fruit & veg when you get home from shopping. Cut your meat into the portion sizes you need, remove any fat if needed and store in the fridge or freezer so it's ready to go. use an app to do your shopping order - this has saved me SOOOO much time, and it's so easy to run in & do a click + collect order, then grab anything else you need quickly. And mums - insanely easier if you have kids with you I use the Woolies app and you can save your favourites to a list, so all I do is go to that list and then add whatever I need to my order. If you like to pick your fruit & veg yourself, then order everything else using the app to save that time. But to be honest, I have had VERY few issues with fruit & veg picked by staff for me. I can tell you it's SUPER common for people to consume less protein than they need (especially ladies that I see) Why do you need to eat enough protein?... it helps with satiety ie keeping you full it builds muscle! 3 quick & easy snacks to increase your protein: 1 have a yoghurt sachet 2 grab a protein bar (I like the Bar Counter brand at Woolies) 3 eat 2 hard boiled eggs What's your favourite source of protein? members don’t forget the nutrition workshop today!

10.01.2022 It took me MANY years of strength training before I could do chin-ups. This was one variation I did - banded chin-ups. The band can go under your knee like this, or under your feet. ... Build up the number of chin-ups you can do & your strength will increase. I still do these now to improve my strength Also - a chin-up bar that fits in a doorway is great to have at home, then you can practice everyday.

06.01.2022 HOW YOU THINK has the biggest impact on your success + your life in general. If you want to drop some kilos then don't focus on those kilos. Rather focus on the habits that have caused you to gain them in the first place. Change them and then the opposite will happen - bye bye bodyfat ... And just remember it won't take 12 weeks if you've had those habits for years, they can be challenging to change. But that doesn't mean you can't do it. 03.01.2022 TRAINER PROFILE This is Jessie! Jessie started with Beautiful Fit in May 2019. ... And this happened to be the month when I (Ali) became sick with pneumonia and ended up ill for 9 weeks with 1 week in hospital so Jessie was pretty much thrown into the deep end She survived though and has created a reputation as a trainer with 'interesting & creative' classes. She is also known as the 'iron fist in the velvet glove' - thanks Susan Here's some words from Jessie: 'I changed careers from Nursing to PT 3 years ago (2017) after my 3rd child was born. I have always enjoyed being active and encouraging others to learn how to keep themselves healthy; and thought that through PT I could reach more people, having a greater impact rather than after they’ve become ill. My passion is building women’s strength through resistance training, and I have completed a pre- and post-natal certificate to safely train women through that stage of life also. Because I thoroughly enjoy strength sports and have competed in Strongman and Powerlifting competitions, I have also undertaken a Fundamentals of Powerlifting course through Rucci’s Strength in WA as well as a Kettlebell Level 1 training through Dangerously Fit Academy in 2019. My hope for you when you come to Beautiful Fit is to feel empowered and strong which carries over to all aspects of your life. As a very busy mum of 3 I know how important it is to carve out time for yourself and to work out to keep yourself fit for your family and for your lifestyle. 01.01.2022 Came across this photo from 2015, when I had my home gym. Going back a few years before this, I had a gym membership with a local gym. It opened at 6am and there was ALWAYS a queue to get in then. There were so many people training & PTs there as well, that you frequently had to wait for equipment in the weights room (and this annoyed me, especially when I had to get to work at the pharmacy that morning). ... So I decided to invest in some equipment for a home gym, which we set up in a bedroom. I got a squat rack, barbell with plates, dip attachments, chin-up bar, incline bench, set of dumbbells from 4-25kg and I already had a treadmill. Cost was about $3000 I believe from memory. BEST money I spent! I used this for 8 years until I set up Beautiful Fit at Highgate. Now I’m totally in the habit of working out on my own with the space to myself 10 years doing this!
