09.01.2022 When we have oily/acne skin, we can be scared to put oil based products on our skin but it is NEEDED for healthy skin! When skin is oily, it is because our skin is dehydrated and the body reacts by producing more oils thinking that we need it! How come? Cleansers designed for Acne/Oily skin are usually harsh and strip the skin, which disturbs the acid mantle and leads to dehydration. Hence, the excessive oil production! To fix this, we need to be using light weight oil based products that will penetrate into the skin and give it the moisture it craves. Your skin will then balance out and stop producing so much excess oils. Using water based creams will not help because our skin is waterproof, and it will not give our skin the hydration it really needs.

06.01.2022 Even though you think your skin is oily, it can still be dehydrated. Dehydrated skin means it is lacking water and feels tight but may still produce oil. In fact, its probably over-producing oil to compensate for the lack of moisture in the skin, which is why dehydrated skin can easily get mistaken for oily skin. Dehydrated skin is common among those with oily and acne-prone skin who use harsh products that strip the skin off water. It is important to watch what you are putting on your skin, so as to not strip and dry it out - making your skin over produce oils that then lead to breakouts!
