Take this time and this post as a reminder to at some point THIS week; run a bath or if baths aren't your thing, have a candle lit shower and take just that LITTLE bit longer, close your eyes and BREATHE... this too shall pass. 04.01.2022 S E L F C A R E whilst in ISO I'll start with this; sometimes being alone with your emotions during an already emotionally charged time can be overwhelming.... So here's my hit list of what has helped me not only being a new mum but being at home more frequently. ... 1. Walks. Anywhere. Around the block. A time limit. Anything at all. Vit D and fresh air does wonders for your mental health and gives you something to look forward to every day. Rail, hail or shine you can make it work. Think of it as an important appointment with yourself to not miss, even if your running late in your day, just push the time back. 2. Stretching/yoga/card readings/using crystals. These are some SELF healing techniques that may or may not resonate with you. There is no perfect way to do any or all of these. Tap into your intuition and TRUST. 3. Try to avoid takeaway/food delivery/junk food. Even if it's just simple cutting up and placing on a plate foods. Try to feed your body foods that will help it to feel energized, nourished and good; you deserve it! 4. Colouring in. I literally went to Big W and bought children's colouring in books with mermaids and unicorns and when I just wanna switch off to the world, instead of scrolling through social media I colour. It takes me back to my childhood. It requires no thought except to keep within the lines. It helps me use a different part of my brain So therapeutic. 5. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. For so long we have been living the rat race. On someone else's watch. Finally we have literally been given a chance to STOP. BREATHE and RESET. Bake a cake, stay in your pjs, binge watch netflix, go for a hike. Whatever your soul is pulling you towards even if it took someone on your social media doing it for motivation; tune in, close your eyes and ask yourself this: "what do I want to do? How do I want to live? How will this make me feel once I have completed or even just attempted this?" The body, mind and soul are all interconnected and will help guide you to what is for your highest good. DON'T just do it for the gram yo AND last but not least; My all time favourite is a face mask.
