09.01.2022 Preparing For Your IPL Hair Removal Treatment Follow these guidelines * We ask that you are freshly showered or bathed with completely clean skin, without lotions, oils, creams or fragrances of any kind before coming in.... * The treatment area should be shaved completely prior to treatment. You should be shaved no sooner than 24 hours prior to your appointment to avoid irritation. Do not wax, tweeze, epilate or use chemical depilatories between IPL treatments. Since the IPL targets the root of the hair, it must be present for the treatment to be effective. Shaving is the only form of hair removal recommended during the course of your treatments. * Avoid sun exposure to the treatment area, this means if you are having your Brazilian area treated you are fine unless you sunbake naked ! * All fake tan must be removed completely , you can fake tan straight after your treatment . 08.01.2022 After receiving the update in regard to COVID 19 Restrictions for Melbourne , and can advise that I fall under stage 2 restrictions therefore the reopening date is now likely to be from 23rd of November 2020 onwards . I will not be taking any future booking until I have more certainty of on opening date as hopefully it may be earlier ! 07.01.2022 How does IPL work? The IPL (Intense Pulsed Light Therapy) hair reduction procedure produces a high intensity flash of filtered light from the applicator head, which has been placed in contact with the skin. The energy from the light source is absorbed by the pigment melanin, which is the chromospheres, which gives hair its colour. The hair rapidly absorbs this filtered light and transfers it to the surrounding cells that in turn are converted into heat raising them to a temperature of 70 degree or more. The heating denatures the cells making them incapable of producing further hair growth.
