25.01.2022 Beauty at The Ponds has been COVID SAFE since it was a thing! I've been super busy since reopening. I just wanted to thank you all, I appreciate the constant support in these unprecedented times. I'm a hygiene nut anyway so the same cleanliness can always be expected. I'm wearing a face visor, taking temperatures and not allowing any sick clients/friends/family into my salon or home. I'm still happily taking on new clients so feel free to get in touch. I've been busy in my down time removing carpet and tack strip's from all of upstairs -the salon, hallway and stairs will be the last I remove in preparation for new hybrid flooring going down 25th and 26th September! If you have appointments on these days I will be in touch soon to reschedule (sorry for the slight inconvenience). It was also confirmed to me on 3 separate calls and literally 100's of other therapists as well by @servicensw HOWEVER it has now been rescinded and changed so no shop salon, home salon can operate. 14.01.2022 Today is white ribbon day From January 2020 -13th November, 43 women have lost their lives. One woman dies per week, usually at the hands of a former or current partner. Alarming statistics that are beyond abhorrent. I think as a society we often think there is not a lot we can do but maybe this is because we aren't yet educated enough to know what we can do or perhaps we don't want to actively think about the haunting statistics. Things that don't help are "man bashing" the...re are plenty of good men out there that know right from wrong. Things that do help are teaching your young boys,nephews, cousins anyone you have a positive influence over, that controlling women and/or their money is not ok, manipulative behaviour is not "love". Being hit, punched and shoved followed by a "I'm sorry YOU made me do it" is not love. Teach your children how to better manage anger and if you don't know how, always ask for help. Teach your boys that emotions are normal and healthy and it's absolutely ok to talk about them and always ok to cry no matter what age. Teach your girls that being loved doesn't mean to be controlled, told what to wear, told who you can or can not hang out with or lied to constantly. Love is not about being gaslighted when you speak your mind about something you suspect and love is certainly not about being coerced into doing things you don't want to do because someone says "but if you love me you would do it". Remember how you behave with your partners especially when in front of children. Teach, inspire, educate both young boys and girls it's never too early to start. I can just about guarantee for every person reading this you may not know it yet but someone you know of is likely effected by domestic violence. 13.01.2022 It is with a very heavy heart that as per government restrictions with the current COVID-19 pandemic I'm sadly forced to close my salon doors. I'm beyond devastated, but I understand- I personally only wish our government had the sense to impose a full lockdown. As a sole trader and single(crazy cat) woman this is my livelihood, and I feel for many others this is affecting. I'm so sorry that I can not look after you all....for now. I will see you all on the other side- hairy ...and in dire need of some pampering! 11.01.2022 Beauty at The Ponds turns 7 years young Seven years ago I was made redundant. What an absolute blessing this was. I've probably always been a risk taker but business is next level. Two days later I decided to set up a home salon. Beauty at The Ponds was born. Anyone who knows me knows the blood,sweat,tears and super long hours that have gone into making my business what it is today.... At a time where the industry is unfortunately suffering massively in a very unfair way with hairdressers allowed to trade(no offense intended my stylist friends!) when we fall under the same classifications I have been reminded of two very important things. 1) That I have the most beautiful souls for clients! Your support always, but especially during this time, the check ins from a lot of you even multiple times during the current closure are appreciated beyond words. The offers you made of offering to pay for your treatments in advance, honestly left me speechless which is rare 2) That I seriously love what I do! I have missed it so much and it reiterates to me that I'm doing exactly what I was meant to do. This is an especially tough year for many with the Corona virus. 04.01.2022 NSW WE FINALLY HAVE A BEAUTY INDUSTRY REOPEN DATE -JUNE 1ST let's hope this one sticks I've been busy all day glued to my phone responding to all your messages but please be patient and remember this is my full time business not a side hustle so there are LOTS and LOTS of you! I can't possibly fit you all in during the first week or two as I'm sure you understand. Please note due to the Covid-19 pandemic alongside the strict hygiene practises the salon has always maintai...ned, the following changes will be implemented. Please understand this is for the safety of myself, you, your families and the wider community. Any client not feeling well Cough, fever, sore throat , sore tummy, sniffles please wait till you are better then reschedule I'm always very accommodating. Temps will be taken before you're allowed entry to the salon with a infrared thermometer. Any temperature readings that are in the unsafe range you will have to re book your appointment for when you're better. Motion activated hand sanitiser must be used upon entry. I will be wearing PPE from now on for your safety and my own. Sterile surgical masks are available on request for you to to wear (if applicable) but will remain at the salon (in a zip lock bag labelled with your name that only you will be able to open and close).
