For those of you who don't know I have my Diploma in Applied Jewellery Design through the Gemological Instuiute Of America (GIA). I have been working in the jewellery industry for 4 years & am so passionate about my role here with Smales Bunbury. I love designing unique & custom designs for client's, remodelling from existing peices of jewellery, sourcing beautiful diamonds, gem stones or pearls & seeing bespoke designs be transformed from a sketch to life I get to see and play with some pretty amazing and incredibly rare diamonds; like Argyle Pink Diamonds as well as see beautifully hand crafted peices created on site by our Jeweller. 09.01.2022 FLOATING (Sensory Deprivation) Last night my partner & I went in to @odysseyfloatstudio for a 1 hour float each & WOW! This was my partner's very first float & about my seventh. Every float experience has been different for me. Sometimes I fall straight asleep (), sometimes I can easily relax and enjoy the hour and sometimes I struggle mentally to stay in the sensory deprivation environment for an hour. This is an environment that we dont experience in any other aspect of... our human lives unless floating so it's completely normal to have different experiences until we are used to this environment. I have personally learnt my day to day life affects how my floating experience will be. For example I dont drink coffee or caffeine the day I'm floating, I make sure I'm not too hungry (I always get hungry in water for some reason ),I respond best to floats in the evening as opposed to the morning as then my day is done and I dont lay there thinking of what I have to achieve that day. Its a really personal thing and this is just what I have found works for me. Last night my mind & body really needed this 'time out' / 'down time'. I felt so refreshed, realigned and centred when I hoped out. And so did my partner - I was so happy The magnesium made our bodies feel wonderful - amazing! MASSAGE + FLOAT As relaxing as I find floating I can't even imagine how much more relaxing the experience would be incorporating a relaxing massage prior to hoping into the pod. By doing this you would already feel wound down from your day, any tension in your muscles and joints will have already been released and your mind will be relaxed going into the experience. This would help you get SO MUCH MORE FROM YOUR FLOAT. Especially if you are new to floating, find it hard to relax or find that you only start to relax towards the end of your 1 hr in the float pod. - HIGHLY RECOMMEND MASSAGE + FLOAT The wide range of health benefits of massaging and floating for both your body and mentality speak for themselves.
