20.01.2022 BORDER RESTRICTION CHANGES . As you may or may not have seen across social media today the border restrictions between Victoria and New South Wales are once again changing, the restrictions will now be lifted from a 2.5 km radius back to the 50 km radius. At the moment there has been no date released as to when these restrictions will change as well as if there are any new requirements similar to last time, it is looking like the decision will happen in the next 10 days. We will not be taking any appointments for clients without permits until we have a set date for the border changes. As per usual we will be sure to keep all our clients posted on further updates! credit to @sunraysiadaily .

20.01.2022 Look... not sure about anyone else, but we’ve been patiently (and obliviously) waiting for a glimmer of hope that the mask restrictions may ease soon.. and basically it’s not going to happen anytime soon . Soo... we thought what better time than to give you a few hot tips we’ve been using to help our poor MASK-NE (AKA acne) from running wild! - removing your mask and using a lotion throughout the day to help bring the skins PH levels back into normal range and also help to... remove any pollutants from the skin - wash/ replace your masks regularly in a skin sensitive detergent - drink water frequently through out day - deep cleansing/ light exfoliating at least once a week - making sure to double cleanse morning and night - trying not to wear makeup These are a few things we’ve all been trying to do and we hope they’ll help you all too See more

08.01.2022 BEAUTY QUIZ . What made you choose beauty as a career? I’ve always been into artsy things and testing beauty trends on myself as a teenager and when I would get my nails done it was always fascinating and satisfying to watch so I decided to do my cert 4 in nail technology and when I completed that I worked for myself doing nails and then 2 years ago Caitlin offered me a position as a trainee to do my full beauty therapy course, so here I am! . What’s your favourite trea...tment that beauty on eighth offers? I would have to say microdermabrasion because of the immediate feeling and look of fresher softer skin and its so satisfying and relaxing but I also am a sucker for nail art so maybe nails too I cant decide!! . Favourite Sothys product? Desquacrem Forte. 100%. Hands down. winner . Favorite glominerals product? Oh no I love all Glo make up but it has to be the pressed powder I don’t like wearing a full face of make up often and I’m not the biggest fan of liquid foundation for everyday use so this powder is an essential for me . What’s your skin care routine? I cleanse my face in the shower (double cleanse) with the sothys vitality cleanser and sothys Desquacrem every 2-3 days for exfoliation and a deeper cleanse, then I use the sothys vitality lotion when I get out to tone, then the sothys unifying serum followed by ole Henriksen truth serum (yes I’m a fiend for serums) ole Henriksen banana bright eye cream and the sothys vitality youth crème to moisturise . Share your beauty tip? Always wash your face before bed, weather it’s at 6pm or 2am! . Best thing about working at Beauty on Eighth? I get to help people feel more confident within themselves and of course the before and afters (if I ever remembered to take photos sorry Caitlin) . not long now till we see your beautiful faces again (hopefully ) See more

07.01.2022 From our families to yours Merry Christmas

07.01.2022 The evolution of spray tans... where do I even begin.. When spray tans started becoming popular I was around 18 and ready to be tanned without the hard labour of laying in the sun and lathering your body in oils! The first tan I had was in a spray tan booth for my year 12 ball I was so excited to be tanned, I went in, listened to the Therapists instructions and said yep no worries I’ll be right. Ten minutes later after standing in the ‘holding the buckets position’ for the w...hole tan and forgetting every position (and that I had to turn around..) I walked out half brown and half white (true story) I’ll try find the photo Thank goodness for technology and the growth of the industry we’ve seen a change in spray tans from being super orange and an 8 hour tan to some working as quick as 20 minutes and allowing for a variety of shades to be achieved! We switched over to Naked Tan about 12 months ago. After trialing many different tans we are super excited to have found ‘the one’ it offers us a variety of shades as well as a rapid tan with the option of showering in 30 minutes For the first time ever this Isolation I thought I’d give the self tanning mousse a go. I’ve always been the joke of Saturday Netball games whenever I’ve attempted my own self tan usually with hand prints, streaks and white patches. I’d literally role into the bathroom on a Saturday after sleeping in my Self tan to scared to look at how bad my job was Well Holey moley I’ve done it! I’ve successfully managed to do my self tan not once but twice now all with the careful application whilst using one of Cams socks (no thanks to myself for losing my tanning mitt ) self tanning isn’t for everyone but I can say I love how I feel when I have tan on, I feel like I’ve been on holidays, it hides my stretch marks, hides my veins and means I can wear less makeup. I just thought I’d share my experience and hopefully provide you with some LOLS. Please feel free to entertain us with your worst self tanning story See more

06.01.2022 Facialing now more than ever, is facialing a thing? Who knows but now it is.. take care of your skin peeps! . Skin tips to help our poor skin under those masks coming soon

06.01.2022 Happiest Father’s Day to all our dads out there! Dads in heaven, men who long to be dads, expectant dads, foster dads, mothers who are dads, granddads and all the dads in between! We love you all and hope you get to spend the day with those who love you the most

06.01.2022 LETS TALK LOTIONS (TONER) Since having to mask up I’m sure we have all noticed quite a change in our skin! Normally skin is slightly acidic, around 4.5-5.5 on the pH scale (0-14). However when we cleanse or even exfoliate our skin we can alter the natural pH due to the alkaline ingredients in some of these products, not to mention how much it would be altered after wearing a mask all day! When this happens our skin starts to work harder to return it back to its normal level and healthy level, this can result in an increase of sebum production, leading to more breakouts and congestion. Using a Lotion (toner) helps to restore the skins natural pH and helps to control and prevent blemishes within the skin especially during this time! @ Mildura, Victoria

04.01.2022 BEAUTY QUIZ What made you choose beauty as a career? I’ve always been into massage and also love pampering people. It relaxes me to help people relax and feel good about themselves . Whats your favourite treatment that beauty on Eighth offers?... Obviously I’m going to say massages (Facials being a close second) I just love the noticeable difference from when I client first comes in for a treatment to them floating out the door! . Favourite Sothy's product? It’s a tough one between the desqacrem forte and the vitality cleanser. I love the Desq because I can see/feel the difference in my skin after using it, where as I use my cleanser every single day and have noticed how well it works with my skin to get it to where it needs to be, compared to previous cleansers I’ve tried. . Favourite glominerals product? I think the glo minerals pressed powder has got to be mine (and everyone elses) number 1 product. Its just such good coverage and super light weight powder, great for every day wear. . Whats your skin care routine?? To be honest to save myself time I do my skincare in the shower.. I start of by doing a double cleanse (2 times a week ill use the desq) when I get out ill go in with my vitality lotion, lightly pat on some eye cream and finish off with a moisturizer. . Share your Beauty Tip?? Regular stretching and heat packs to help relieve my muscle tension. . Best thing about working at beauty on Eighth? I love being able to meet so many incredible people from all walks of life and learning new skills/ refining old skills. See more
